I'm over 4 million just with United and have about 600,000 with other carriers, mostly American.
United tells me there's less than 400 people worldwide with more than 5 million miles flown on United. About 800 with 4 million+.

...and boy are my arms tired!
I have a friend well over 5 million at about ~30 years old. He’s been a pilot for a few year, probably flies 100k miles a month or so the last 3 years. Flew less before that but still a few hundred thousand miles on a down year.
I know that I have flown a lot over the years being based in Asia. I've never really added the miles up and I flew on many different airlines. Easier to track now especially with so many airlines grouped together in mileage programs. Back in the 80's a little more difficult.
What was your line of work that you flew that much?
I just got over one million on Delta, flying 2-3 times a month for around 25 years, and I thought that was a LOT of travel (litigation attorney).
True. I started with United in 1988 and trips to Asia really add up. I've had in excess of 80 myself. I learned early how to just sleep and 'zone out' on those 17 hour flights.
I have about 1.5 million on American. I too thought that was a lot of travel.
I could walk 500 miles.
And I would walk 500 more.
2.7 million on United and it's taken me 30 years. 4+ million is a lot. I don't do much flying these days, 4-5 trips to Asia a year is enough to maintain 1K.
Enjoy your lifetime GS with your companion. That's a nice perk.
