Lemme guess- you'll be the same guy to lose his mind if a transgender girl is allowed to play with the women because...." WE NEED TO SAVE WOMEN'S SPORTS! SAVING WOMEN'S SPORTS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL!!!!"
LOL.
of course they are. they are also the same hypocrites who complain endlessly about censorship on letsrun and then demand that ESPN not focus on women's basketball so much. but they better get used to it because its here to stay. and its not just ESPN. women's college basketball has set records on SEVEN different networks this year which is why they are all clamoring for a piece of that pie and sponsors and advertisers are buying up ad space during women's games. right now there's a bigger ROI then there is for men's sports.
It’s so annoying. Nobody cares. But it’s all over espn on their front page and reports. Espn is woke
I'm not going to peruse through the entire thread to read responses.
You seem like a pretty stupid person. Someone that isn't so obtuse and didn't want to watch it would do the easy thing - just not watch it.
Also, if you don't mind, give us the definition of "woke." From reading your post it appears that you're one of the snowflakes that label anything that bothers them as being "woke."
Folks, it doesn't make one a misogynist to see the women's tournament results above the men's tournament result on the ESPN site and scratch your head, at best. Roll your eyes, at worst.
Imagine if the NFL playoffs were going on today and they had, say, NCAA men's hockey results above it? As above, you'd either scratch your head, or, hearing, say, that new leadership at ESPN was Canadian, suspect that they MIGHT be trying to kinda-sorta force hockey on you a bit.
The reality, for many years now, is that coverage of NCAAW and pro women's basketball DOES appear to be out of proportion - and perhaps badly out of proportion - to its popularity. Is that a tragedy? No. Is it worth pointing out? Sure, why not? Is it worth perhaps mocking a bit as silly PC? Sure, why not? If SNL did it, you'd laugh. So, don't NECESSARILY chalk someone pointing it out to Neanderthal thinking.

And do I think that at least 51% of people who would start a thread on this ARE Neanderthals? Sure, probably. But that's a long way from 100, and it doesn't necessarily mean that they AREN'T making a "valid," not-really-discriminatory point.

ESPN is a business. They wouldn't show something that doesn't generate revenue. Caitlin Clark generates revenue.
She seems to be a phenom who could possibly elevate the sport but from my understanding, the league has never been profitable and is essentially an NBA charity.
If ESPN/Disney decides to air programming in prime time with low ratings, it is their business decision. Viewers will not watch it if is not popular. It is ESPN's problem to deal with, not ours. Perhaps they see potential in getting in on the ground floor of a sport where new economics is possible (Caitlyn Clark here) just not likely.
Disney's movie slate has suffered from a lack of storytelling and move to political stances-their 10Q more or less admitted this. They are paying the price here, not us. Welcome to the media business.

Women’s BB was an atrocious watch in the days when UConn and UT were the only two competitive teams. It was predictable who would win every year. Now there is some parity, although it’s nothing like the men’s game (higher seeds were 31-1 in the first round). Ultimately, it comes down to the competition, and the women’s game needs something like an Iowa-LSU rematch to be compelling
