Simeon Birnbaum and Rheinhardt Harrison are entered in the 800 and 1500. So their Oregon Preview openers tomorrow may be a low key rust buster but seems like it’s just in preparation for this more important meet.
Collegiate/Open Section/Heat Assignments -TBA Due to the high number of entries, we'll be posting the heat assignments at 9:00 pm (PDT) tonight. We've really tried our best to accommodate everyone's needs. Unless there was a mix-up on our end we won't be able to make changes to the heats. Thanks for your understanding!
Why does it take so long to come up with the heats? Are they doing this by hand with pencil and paper?
This, from Stanford "Home Meets" web page:

That note also doesn't mention HS. Did they just give up on HS?
Colin Sahlman running the 5000 (guess he's working on endurance) - Leo Young in his heat
Courtney Wayment running the 1500 (guess she's working on speed) then later the 5000
Simeon Birnbaum running 800 in same heat as Matthew Centrowitch, then later he runs the 1500 against Adam Spencer, Nathan Green, and Jackson Sharp. This is Simeons 'Welcome to the big league kid' double.
Carter Cutting vs Leo Young in 800.
Karrie Bologa in the 5000, her first big outdoor race since transferring to NAU

Great college 1500 Friday night.
Then, Simeon & Centro in the 800 Saturday afternoon.
Just know that all these high-powered distance program always show up at the Stanford Invite to get their regional top-48 qualifying times, not necessarily their prs or national meet Qs.
Especially true in the 10ks; Stanford Invite is about the only meet during the regular season where this is possible due to always consistent great distance running weather as well as being the opener to the outdoor season.
Raevyn Rogers was supposed to run the 800 in San Diego a few days ago, but bailed last minute for some reason.
I wish the Lex Young (or Leo Young) would have given the 10k a try last year. There haven't been many high school runners who have taken a shot at the national high school 10k record.
