As a teacher, I can't tell you how frustrating it was to be kept out of my classroom. It was difficult for me, my students, and my own children that were also kept out of their classrooms. A disgusting time in America, for sure. The exact repercussions will remain unknown, but so many issues are still so obvious to this day in terms of decreased education and increased anxiety. :(
The worst part is that I don't think any lessons have been learned. People seem to spurn individual freedom and embrace collectivism more and more every day.
Teaching is a thankless profession, and right wingers response to this is to dump on them even harder and make their jobs more miserable and difficult. Lol right wingers
Yes, because right wingers care about one thing above all else, and that is power. Like Trump. Lie and mislead and and mismanage - all are fine for them if done in order to gain control.
They don't give a rat's @ss about anything except themselves.

I agree. Forcing kids to go to school just encourages people to think that public schools exist only to keep kids off the street. The monkeys in a cage, so to speak. Whether they learn anything becomes secondary. And all studies indicate they learn very little past the first few years.
Hard to get pov here. The headline isn’t clear and could be read as openly hostile toward teachers, even though it is based on a straight news story. In any case the “coward” crack about teachers is gratuitous bile and just a presumption based on a low opinion of the profession. The teacher ranks are no different from any other profession in terms of quality of character. They just get tougher criticism because of mistaken perceptions by Ill-informed public.
