This is exactly what happened. Whoever is blaming Bons for this is an idiot.

I thought he literally had been robbed and was quite concerned for his safety.
Nah he didn’t get robbed. Him and Colin displayed horrendous tactics. Who goes out to lane three over and over only to tuck back in where they were?
No one deserves to go down in any race for one. Also he really wasn't reckless, especially compared to Khan from FL who was in lane 3 practically the whole race.
I don't know. I wanted Ethan Strand to win. I don't think you can really blame one person for Gary Martin's fall. They were all bunched up, it was bound to happen.
Just unlucky - typical indoor - Strand did cut in early on Bons BUT - Martin should have seen it play out, he got on top of Bons but didn't go down till he went to go around cutting off guy moving in behind so multiple bumps and clips - welcome to indoor. Much more potential risk - best to manage either sitting in back and moving w 500 togo give or take or running in front - you never want to be making your move coming off final turn with only 50m to go being on the rail and middle pack - just a crummy risk /reward at that point - and yes - all easier said then done.

Look, a Gary Martin fan, but have to call it like it was. I rewatched twice this morning, three times Martin moves out into Lane 3 and goes no where, then ducks back in. Again, hate to sound like an arm chair QB here, but if you go out into Lane 3 , 3 times after 1:30 in? You have to do something or you are just asking for trouble.I thought that the Gtown guy simply bumped in from behind, did not see all the other stuff people are blaming guys for. Bottom line , in a race that you can see if clearly tactical, or will be from early on, you have to sit in and make one move , not three, or you go right to the front..run your 3:55-56 and roll the dice. In this case the fastest seasonal guy won, so I guess a righteous result?
So how was this the BYU runner's fault? He's literally in front of Gary Martin, getting cut off himself by the UNC runner, when Martin goes down.
Also, a video of BYU football players and basketball players from years ago relates to the BYU runner, how? The link to the CougarBoard website is also a parody post...
Couldn’t agree more. If you rewatch the race and hone in on Martin, he’s continuously bumping people around and initiating contact. He knocks sahlman 3-4 times. I think should have been DQd 3 times before he went down.

Indoor is a gladiator sport.
Learn to run smoother, get to the front and protect yourself. ... Practically all of these guys could've chosen to take it out faster but non did. They made it very easy for Houser and very difficult for themselves. Martin has to learn better tactics. Hopefully he has a great outdoor season
In a race like that you run in the front or the back. In the middle is too dangerous/too much wide on the turns running. When you make your move, Do it decisively. Do like Mo often did- start in the back , make one big move to then try to control from the front late.
Everyone was bumping each other around, if you are going to use that logic then everyone in the race should have been disqualified.
Go to the back and start building it up. Run on the curb as much as you can. Like Bill Cosby once said, when you pass someone going around the curve, not only do you have to go twice as fast, but you have to go twice as far!
