If you are suggesting that I am not allowed to care about men competing in women’s sports until I also give you an answer for agricultural subsidies, I think that is nonsensical reasoning at best. You could say that about almost literally any issue, except for preventing global nuclear war.
It's wild that people still don't understand that sex and gender are not the same thing.
It’s wild that no one even thought of that until the 1970s, Yet people talk about it as if it is some sort of established fact or unquestionable science. Throughout human history, no one even bothered to attempt to differentiate between sex and gender. This was invented by feminist, who wanted the freedom to do things usually associated with men. That’s all. It’s a philosophy, nothing more.

Men competing against women was hyperbolic 15 years ago, heck, even 8-10 years ago… and now it’s (according to the desires of many on the left) “normal.” So yeah, you should stop with your hyperbolic nonsense, b/c the game you people play is getting old. We point out a societally harmful abnormality, you guys say “that’s not even happening,” it starts happening (and then more and more often!), then you guys say “why do you even care?”
Miss me with your bat$hit craziness, thanks.
Well said, and their reasoning is entirely nonsensical. It’s designed to silence right thinking people, to make them think that their views aren’t worth expressing, or that they’re fools for doing so. Don’t buy it for a moment. The endgame here is that sex and gender have no meaning at all. Sports is just one casualty. The minds and bodies of young people is another.

A variety of cultures had some kind of third gender, from the Indian hijra to the Balkan sworn virgin. Not all the people who lived their lives as these would be considered trans by current standards, but many were. There have been trans people as long as there have been cis people.
Even with regard to modern medical treatments that treat the gender dysphoria coming from the fact that trans people are not the gender matching their birth anatomy, you are wrong. The first successful vaginoplasty took place in 1931. This was less well-known until recently since the Nazis ransacked and destroyed the archives of the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft. (Some of the most famous images of Nazi book burnings are of this exact event.)

More and more often?
In 2019, Cece Telfer won the 400mH at D2 outdoor championships.
In 2024, Sadie Schreiner finished 9th in the prelim at D3 championships.
As far as we know, those are the only two trans track & field athletes who competed at NCAA. June Eastwood competed in D1, but didn't get out of the regionals. There was a heptathlete in D3 who did not make the NCAA some years ago.
After the outdoor season this year, Schreiner will be ineligible to compete. So who will be competing next season? There are 34 trans women in all sports at all divisions of NCAA. That's compared to 200,000 cis women. And that number is expected to sharply decline after this season because of the rule change.
I wonder what's going to happen with Tate Drageset. She had a volleyball scholarship offer from the University of Washington that was apparently withdrawn after Riley Gaines and some other usual suspects outed her. It sounds like she may be eligible to compete in the NCAA even by the new rules. The past articles about Tate and her family indicated that she socially transitioned before she was 10, so it's possible that she started medical transition relatively soon after and never went through male puberty.
She also seems to be in the class of 2025, so there's another year for this to develop.
Why is sex the only biological characteristic letsrun posters are obsessed with? Why not height or weight? There is a creepy factor about all these threads.
Poor analogy. Height and weight are only relevant in sports with height classes (are there any?) and weight classes (wrestling, boxing, MMA). This is a running site.
It’s a great analogy. If a boxer was 140lbs, but then puts on 20 extra pounds, they don’t continue to compete in the 140lbs. weight class. You compete against what you are, not what you used to be.

She is fully eligible for NCAA volleyball under the new rule. She has been playing AAU for several years, and she would not be allowed to do so if she were not eligible under the USA Volleyball rule.
I think there will be another school that is interested in signing her. But they will keep it quiet until the National Letter of Intent signing day. If any information is leaked before that, the school may be forced to rescind the offer like UW did.
I wrote the number will sharply decline, but I don't think it will be zero unless the federal government enforces a nationwide ban on gender affirming care for minors.
They biologically are male. You can tip toe around this fact all day long, it won't change it. Stating this does not make someone a transphobic. Good freaking grief people. I have zero issues with a trans person and wish then nothing but a happy life. However, sports are segregated by BIOLOGICAL sex, not self identifying gender, for a reason. There are reasons as to why men perform better and all those are biological. Their bodies are built differently. For this fact alone, a biological male should not be in women's sports. This has nothing to do with being a bigot or transphobic or whatever label you want to throw around to elevate your virtual signaling. It just is what it is. They physically have advantages over women even if they mentally identify as a woman. Create a trans league is my suggestion. Make it physically fair. Sports are physical competitions, not emotional ones.
If hulking, 375 lb. Emil, who competes as a super-heavyweight weightlifter, wants to add a “y” to his name and become Emily, that’s his choice. However if he then begins competing in women’s weightlifting, that’s patently unfair to biological women.

Look up the man who revolutionized the idea that they are not connected, Dr. John Money. Read about what he did to a pair of twin boys. From there, draw your own conclusions about how legit his ideas were, and bear in mind that he was able to portray his little experiment as successful for years and years before the then-grown men went public about the reality of the situation. In the interim, Money’s ideas became accepted and the fact they were based on his self-serving BS was downplayed.

John Money's experiment shows you cannot raise a boy to become a girl.
John Reimer simply could not become a girl, In spite of all his efforts, and efforts of Reimer's parents. He was a boy and should have been raised as a boy.
It debunks the transphobe's talking point that trans kids are "groomed" into transitioning by their parents for whatever reason. Parents just cannot enforce gender identity on kids.

As has been pointed out to you multiple times by multiple people, it debunks the *exact opposite* of what you're claiming. It proved you can't enforce a different sex on a child. A biological male can't believe that he's female even when he is surgically altered without his knowledge and all the people in his life are gaslighting him from birth. Biological reality always wins.

But Money did not try to enforce a different sex on Reimer. He tried to enforce a different gender on him, which was the opposite of Reimer's own gender identity. And that failed miserably. Any parent who forces their kid to transition against their own identity would be equally unsuccessful.

Gender identities are pseudoscientific quasi-religious beliefs; 'gender souls' don't exist, sex does.
