I learned astrology was nonsense when I was about 6 years old. Why do so many adult women in the West like and believe in it so much? Seems like half the women I know under the age of 45 take it as gospel. Bizarre.
We humans are built with a spiritual component. It's just how we are. That manifests itself in very different ways, from traditional religions, to causes, to sports figures. We want to believe something bigger than ourselves and/or have faith that there is a higher power.
Some people are Buddhists, some read tarot cards, some believe in "climate change," some worship Taylor Swift. All fill the same psychological need.

Why do people take the gospel as gospel? I also learned that was nonsense years ago. Why do so many adults in the US like and believe in it so much? Bizarre

One of these examples has been shown to be very likely true through thousands of repeatable experiments by thousands of qualified people in hundreds of different places across the globe (yes, globe)

Yes, the climate has been changing forever. It is a clever name for a cause because it is a real phenomenon. Why the climate is changing and what to do about it are the issues at hand. On these two questions, the left lies relentlessly.
Related, "climate denier" is the dumbest term in politics. No one denies there is a climate.

It's because many peoples' brains switch off when the proper terms are used - you're missing the word 'anthropogenic' and being deliberately obtuse.
I love using ChatGPT (Bing Copilot) ! I knew that a partial answer was confirmation bias and what I called interpretational bias. Copilot told me it was confirmational bias (seeing the parts of the answer that applies to you and disregarding the rest) and the Barnum Effect.
I'd never heard of this particular logical fallicy. The Barnum Effect is when generalizations are interpreted by the individual to apply to them. "Don't rush into any relationship decisions today" is an example. Someone reads it and applies it to something coming up and thinks it's profound. Actually, it applies to everyone all the time when generalized this loosely.
Astrology isn't nearly as big as it was in the 60s and 70s.

The exact same reason grown men have their life happiness dictated by the week to week success of the NFL team they support, the same reason grown women go Taylor Swift concerts and almost have seizures when she walks out on stage.
The human psyche is it an alltime interesting crossroads.
