Don't underestimate Florida freshman Khan. He has a wicked kick and should be there at the end of the race assuming he gets the opportunity to run. Don't know how many athletes in ncaa final heats. He currently ranks 22nd based on current indoor season but is improving rapidly.
I think Waskom wins either the mile or 1500 this year. Sahlman looked pretty spectacular in January, and I imagine Mike Smith will have him more prepared for NCAAs. Still, would I have him over the reigning NCAA 1500 champ, reigning NCAA mile champ, 2nd placer at USAs, and a 3:31 guy?
I've been on the Waskom train since he won the 2022 1500. I was real disappointed by him last year after he ran 3:51, then sucked at NCAAs. I felt super vindicated when he came 2nd at NCAAs and USAs though.
Sahlman was so good in high school. 1:48/3:56/8:33, XC champ, and he ran 1:46 as a freshman last year. He's with the goat Mike Smith. Waskom not running 3:51 has me thinking he might be peaking better this year, but at my heart, I'm a Newbury Park fan, so I'm going Sahlman.
So give a cheer for the Orange and Blue, Waving forever,Forever pride of old Florida, May she droop neverWe'll sing a song for the flag to-day, Cheer for the...
Really hoping Nico and Colin win their respective events (Mile/5k... also DMR/3k?) since I'm a big NAU fan / was a big Newbury Park fan... but realistically it's going to be one of the Washington guys. 1/4th of the Qualifiers in the Mile are Huskies, and their team tactics are unparalleled.

mr im above posting on letsrun, but I post on letsrun
FGump may be a lil ignorant not know that NCAAs is the top 16, but they're not wrong. Parvej just won SECs this weekend. I'd like to see him in the race, but we'll likely have to wait until outdoors.

This young mug for Florida! Khan all the way!!!! (If he gets in)
22nd is pretty low, but…
Nico will not declare
Wolfe will not declare
At least one of the 4 Washington guys will not declare (choosing DMR instead). Green? He is ranked 2nd at 800m, but only 8th in the mile. It would be better for team points for him to run the 800m. At best, 3 of his teammates score less points in the mile if he is there.
Murphy? Choosing the 3000m would probably be a better option for him. He can kick and he would come in fresher than the guys who have already run the 5000m &/or DMR &/or the mile Quali
Quax will not declare. He will be doing DMR and 3000m surely
Troutner? He will probably declare, but maybe he will simply choose the 3000m
Samuel will not declare. He will run 3000/5000
We have 6 or 7 guys here who may not declare in the mile.
My Moma always said, stupid is as stupid does. Now I know 16 runners qualify for NCAAs. Nevertheless, Khan is a miler to watch. Lots of upside potential.

I would also think Murphy would be running the 3K, or he and Langon would not have run the 3K at Big East in a clear attempt to qualify and both did. Murphy with his ability to accelerate , especially off what will most likely be tactical is a real threat, I think.
When is the deadline for multi event qualified runners to declare what events they will be running at NCAA championships? Sorry if that's another stupid question but we've already established that stupid is as stupid does.
