I tend to be fairly unemotional and pragmatic when it comes to brands I buy from. Meaning, while I may be aware of political/social leanings of theirs, if I like their product enough I'll happily purchase from them. I'll eat my Chick-fil-A and then go have dessert at Ben and Jerry's because they're both tasty! Even though I know ideologically they're not on the same "team".
But with Nike, I feel they've done enough damage to this sport that I really have no interest in ever purchasing a product from them. Is it convenient that other brands are just as competitive when it comes to shoes for instance? Absolutely. I acknowledge that decision might not be so simple if their products were so superior I was cutting my nose to spite my face avoiding them. But they're not, so I do.
So good luck them trying to get my business back. I'm sure it's nothing but sleepless nights in Beaverton wondering if one random dude on a message board will ever spend $275 on their shoes again.
