I’ve seen and sold most of the emerging shoe tech since the late 70s; and for those old enough, Asicstiger had several models from the early 80s that had similar “holes” in the midsoles, granted they weren’t large and they weren’t in helion foam - but, the premise was the same. My curiosity got the best of me last month and I tried on the cloudsurfer and cloudgo. For me, I don’t see the hype. The surfer was mushy for my 130 lbs., and the offset in the Go was too noticeable. Yeah, they look unique, and I kind of compare them to Reebok of the 80s when they were killing Nike - just before the Jordan came out - Reebok had a serious stable of elites and a couple of serious running models, but, they were primarily known for their aerobic models, like the freestyle, and all the ladies and men were quick to buy up those soft leather walk-around, everyday shoes. I mean the cloud tech in On is nothing in my opinion, but helion is indeed a great DuPont (?) foam known for durability. But, whatever works for you - “experiments of one,” and all that…..
