But society is divided. Otherwise this wouldn’t keep happening. Liberals have told people for years that their sexuality and their identity is theirs to create, and whatever they decide, everyone else must go along. Why are we shocked then that people take this to its logical conclusion? Liberals set the house on fire, now they want everyone else to show up with hoses?
The most influential people in our culture believe, or say they do, that sex has no meaning except what we make of it. It’s impossible to then say to people, “be whatever you want to be” but “you can’t compete in your chosen sex.”
Until we are willing to attack the root cause - a radical misunderstanding of sex and identity - women’s sports are in jeopardy.

Many, many of us (approaching "most of us") see the problem here. The polling bears that out, which I have shared many times before.
Don't divide society on this one. A stronger, more accurate play is to say, "On this issue, society is united, and that includes both Republicans and Democrats. We need to protect women's sports for XX humans."
That's the message that people need to hear; our elected officials, people who run state athletic associations and national and worldwide governing bodies, college administrators, parents, athletes, etc.

Liberals don’t tell people that, and most don’t have strong feelings on the issue. The current situation is a result of various court decisions and has nothing to with what Republicans, or Democrats, might think.
It’s already been decided that legally, transgender females are women. The issue is whether participating in sports can be taken away from their rights as one. It was decided in the 1977 Renee Richard’s case that it couldn’t. “We” attacking the root cause is not going to change anything.
The thing that bothers me the most is how unethical this is on the part of the participants. Really, it's simply legalized cheating, for which I would feel terrible as a competitor. I can't imagine there would be much pride in it as well.
Sporting governing bodies have totally dropped the ball on it; and I'm really actually a pretty tolerant person, who is kind of centrist about most cultural issues. People have been so bullied about it--and are instantly deemed anti-trans (I'm not) or anti-LGBTQ (I'm not). So frustrating.
What Kind of ridiculous Statement is that? If you believe transwomen are real women then you cant oppose them taking part. If you dont believe this you are clearly antitrans
This is wrong. I am not anti-trans, and I don't believe transwomen are real women. If they were, they would not be trans. It's right there in the definition.

This started happening in earnest only a few years. Not coincidentally, at the exact same time that the transgender movement went main stream, and it became acceptable to claim to be a different sex than you were born. Of course, the root cause is important. It’s everything.

Agree in some regards on this statement, but first of all, that article is very misleading.
It disregards that he ran 50.49 for 400m as a high schooler in 2022, which had him ranked #2 in his school history, and EVERYONE should agree is much better than a 11.72, indicating this is a longer sprinter.
A 300m in 41.8 is equivalent to a 58.5s 400m, so comparing that to a open 50.49, at this point is a pretty equivalent time (and that was 18 months ago, so further development is expected).
So this article, and the "Libs of tiktok" tweet really cherrypicked the data, screenshotting the 100m school record list but ignoring his #2 ranking in the 400m. It's this kind of BS "reporting" that pisses me off and makes these boards the cesspools of misinformation they really are.
Now going forward, will it be "fair" as this person competes as a women? I think the advantages this person had developing as a male until recently will help, but there are a lot faster women in the NCAA and many of them are pretty jacked too. so it'll be interesting to follow.
Dude even if he had to run with one leg it's not 'equivalent' to women. No matter how he may choose to handicap himself, or however untalented he may be, he is not a woman. Female competitions are meant to determine the fastest WOMEN, and he is not of that category. There are plenty of fat dudes, old dudes, weak dudes, etc, who would be beat by many women but that doesn't mean the public takes any interest in fat dudes or old dudes or weak dudes joining female competitions just because they might be of 'equivalent' ability.
Well in August “atypical” “women” are S out of Luck running in the women’s races in the sport of track and field.
by the way it’s anti trans to call a transgender person male or female, they are trans. trans people should fight for trans rights rather than to force themselves into a different historically marginalized group.
So you're saying its fair for a guy who wouldn't even make a conference team in Division 1 to be competing for the title just because he has a mental illness and changed his name?
So you are saying if you can’t make a d1 conference team, you shouldn’t be allowed to run D3? Seems like a pretty crazy idea to me to say all but like the top 12 guys or so in event shouldn’t be allowed to run…

What do you think that root cause might be? Has one been found for homosexuality?
Anyway, that battle has been lost. Transfer people are legally allowed to exist.
