MIAC is sending a bijillion distance dudes to ncaa championships
Gabe and Boone looked great, just need to kick harder and 3:46 is theirs. Oles do their pack run thing again. We are living in a world where it will take sub 3:50 to podium at MIAC
Gusties might edge out Johnie’s as the new top dogs in the 800? Two commanding 1:54 marks seem to indicate so. Tommy Allen is missing in action after his triumphant indoor comeback. Could we see 1:50 low miac champ!?
Lynn, sleep, Bati and Lars all put up legit 10k marks and look as if they could all run under 30 given a few more weeks of mileage. The will someone still be able to tempo for points in the 10k? Seems as if the tides are turning. I predict sub 29:50 to win con
Olaf is Steeple U. 4 sub 9:30, 2 sub 9. Carter grove is back from the abyss but just looks happy to be here.
were having such a good year guys why all the negativity! Everyone’s running fast, let’s bask in the glory that is getting slightly less rolled by the WIAC. UM might be the third best distance school in the state (this is good)
(Roy wan 14:30 as I wrote this. Dunno wtf is gonna happen in the 5k, no one’s ran it seriously yet it seems. Send in ur predictions.)
I have received information from a reliable source that Isaac Fitzgerlad is actually being secretly coached by Phil Lundin
I just assumed Power uses all of Phil's training. Why would he change anything from a program that sent 7 Oles to Nationals in one season. Especially given his background coaching hurdles. I'd think Phil's plans would be an incredible asset for any coach.

Looks like honestly 4 people might go to nationals from MIAC men. No reason to think MIAC is going to suddenly get that much faster in 10K without accounting for all the non-MIAC guys that have still to run one or others that will improve would love to think Bati or someone could pop one off, but he just doesn't seem to be a great track racer and I doubt that will suddenly change in the next couple weeks. Other than maybe Calvin or Will Kelly, I'm not sure anyone has much of a shot at low 14s for 5k. Gabe and Calvin probably good in the 1500. Even if others get faster, they'll still have to compete with other teams improving as well and even Calvin's 3:49 doesn't look like it will hold up, but he should be able to improve on that.
The women (Fiona) will probably do way better. Ihde probably in for the 800 already, Fiona might just run everything from 800-10k (why not just throw her in the 400, 400h and steeple just for fun) and Preisser will probably find some event to sneak in.
Anyway, the MIAC has pretty much turned into a sprint conference so good luck to Bethel and St. Johns.
Love to see the discourse on the women, however, Fiona isn't the only long-distance woman to watch out of the MIAC. Are we forgetting that the Carleton Women WON XC Nationals? Several of them are on the outdoor list while racing mostly local competition (solo efforts).

Did you miss the part where I specifically mentioned Preisser and the likelihood that she would make it in something?
Helen Cross, Phoebe ward and Sophie McManus are borderline right now. Carleton women won on depth not top performances and they haven't exactly been lighting it up so far outdoors. Maybe they'll sneak a few more in, but other than the three I mentioned nobody has run a time that will get them into nationals this year, nor do they have prior year times indicating they will run way better times. I do wish them all the best, but right now it looks like about 3-4 per.
This is shaping up to be one of the more interesting 10K’s for both genders in recent MIAC history.
On the men’s side four athletes could conceivably make an effort to try to qualify. Can they do it without a pacer?
On the women’s side Pressier sits 18th and Bode from St. Olaf moved into 19th. Both are All-Americans and could conceivably need a slightly faster mark to be safe.
It will be very interesting to see how St. Scholastica and St. Olaf enter their athletes at the MIAC Championship. Do they selfishly load up their studs to get 4th and 5th or do they let their guys go after it?
Looks like the Oles are running the 5K at St. Thomas with Lars and Bati likely to join.
The Cobber steeple train continues. 9:24 for a freshman is absurd. Perhaps a MIAC freshman record and well faster than any freshman has run recently including Will Kelly.
The tides of the MIAC are shifting. After all of Phil’s seniors graduates and only one decent guy returns Power won’t be able to tell anyone they are steeple U.
Steeple U holding down 2 of the top 10 spots in the confrence. Emergent powerhouse. I wish my school was cool enough to have 3 guys under 10. Unmatched depth.
Who will score more points? Moorhead at conf or olaf steeplers at nats ?
The Tommy 5k is shaping up to be an incredible effort. Who will (Kelly) emerge victorious from the stamped. Will Lars be able to go balls to DeWall? Will Mo be able to Bati everyone? How many nationals qualifiers can we get from this race?
To be fair, McKee hasn’t had a competitive steeple this year. With people to run with, I’d think he could be competing for 3rd.
I’d also caution the Oles to not get too hyped. They still have to do it when it matters. They have a long way to go before they can outscore Bethel, the Johnnies, and maybe even Gustavus and St. Scholastica anywhere other than on paper.
A leader is a person you will follow to a place you wouldn't go by yourself.

So what are you saying about Power, Jakob?
Tough go for the Cobbers and Saints in terrible conditions at Drake. That's a long drive them.
The heart often desires what it cannot have, Hope they don't turn my dawg, into a sacrificial lamb, doing all this running, what is the point, when he's on the podium, whats his next joint, silly little conference, in Minnesota, national glory, endorsements from soda, does it even matter when up against LaCrosse, David v. Goliath, updaterofthings, notkevbot, yapyapyap, capcapcap, bruhbruhbruh, pebpebpeb, peebspeebspeebs.
BOOM
Mike DROOOOOOOOP
That quote about leadership definitely sparks some thought about the nature of power, doesn't it? It suggests that true leadership involves inspiring others to venture beyond their comfort zones, even to places they wouldn't necessarily choose to go alone.
As for the Cobbers and Saints enduring tough conditions at Drake, it sounds like a real test of resilience and dedication. Making that long drive and braving harsh weather conditions to compete shows their commitment to their sport and their teams. It's those challenging moments that often define the strength of a team's spirit.
It appears Power is hyping himself as one of the best steeple coaches in the NCAA in another thread. What kind of leadership is that? I’m sure the Oles like that though.

If what the previous poster said I’d right, power wouldn’t be posting himself, rather he lead his team to post on this thread! I’ve never met him, but that man is an icon.
You don’t think his runners are the ones posting half the crap on here? Their social media is so cringey and try hard. Letsrun is probably part of his same hype campaign. He and most of the soles seems like the type that think any publicity is good publicity.
Looks like a great 5K Wednesday night. Can Lars tag along with Kelly and top the Ole pack? Will Bati get his breakthrough qualifier? Which Tommie will save the pride of the D1 pack? How quickly will Lueth post about it on the Minnesota high school thread and how many times will he mention Bloomington?
