fisky - are there photos in your book showing what your homemade orthotics looks like? If not, could you post some pictures? I'd like to give this a try - seeing a few photos of what you describe would be helpful. I have runners knee on the right, which pronates pretty solidly through the midfoot, but no problem with it on the left - which doesn't pronate and feels great in a neutral shoe. I had a pair of custom orthotics made when I was a runner in college (fifteen years ago), but they caused problems for my left leg (where I had no problems to begin with), even though they helped on the right (and quickly resolved the runners knee issue). I've tried to address the right knee soreness with strength / flexibility / etc. without nearly as much success as some arch support has. I've always thought just a little bit of arch support for that one foot (while doing nothing for the other), would be the best solution. Would like to see what you did so I could copy it. Thanks!
