That's YOUR opinion. Many other people have a different opinion. You don't seem to understand that.

“Silly” aye, tell me you’re from overseas without telling me you’re from overseas, your opinion don’t count “silly”!
There are a couple of firms in specific industries that don't hire from all but a few schools. Michigan is not one of them.
You are right, but in general assets are proportional to income, the $65k single mom sitting on $10 million in assets paying full price at Harvard is rare. To keep it simple the family contribution is equal to a %ofassets, plus a % of income. The student in question is also a part of that equation, that is their income and assets. There are plenty of students even with 0 assets and $2500 in summer income from McD's, and others who make income from a portfolio of stocks in their name and have already made 17 years of contributions to a Roth IRA.
Of course on xc teams fin aid is lower, same w crew, equestrian, tennis, squash, lacrosse, gymnastics, swimming and other sports, where athlete's tend to come from well to do families.
For what it's worth, on her Instagram she publicly follows a whole slew of accounts of top XC/TF college programs (NC State, Arkansas, Florida, OK State, Oregon, NAU, Colorado). And some coaches from other programs (e.g., Stanford) too. So she does at least seem to be keeping her options open.
I am recently retired. I went to a state university out west. My brother in law went to Harvard. I stayed on the west coast for my career, had a good professional career, and I have a comfortable retirement situation. My brother in law took a job with a Fortune 500 corporation in NY, moved around the country several times, e.g. Minneapolis, SF, Miami and ended up a senior executive with the company. We're both happy with our careers and lifestyle choices, but his net worth is about 5x mine. Career options and long term financial returns are big reasons why those who can get in choose Harvard.
Going to NAU for the superior academics
Harvard?
Betting the two main variables that you did not mention are that your brother is smarter than you and your brother did not attend for free while your parents started you with a $340K headstart.
His brother in law.
Oh. That point is very relevant.

I was wondering this too. It’s almost November and nothing. Most runners I know in class of 2024 have committed already. She’s one of the best so I would think she would have too. Does anyone know anything new?
Ellie Shea is secretive. She doesn't talk much to other people and she has a very small inner circle. She probably has decided where she wants to go but she doesn't want to announce it yet.
Gonna throw a long shot out there and say she just signs a pro contract straight up like Hobbs Kessler, Drew Hunter etc.
Doesn't seem like she cares about running any team sports
Why not go to NAU for the superior academics?
It's true that Ellie Shea isn't much of a team player. But on the other hand, I don't think that she is good enough to go pro.
I think that she will end up running in college, even though she doesn't seem to like being on a team, because I think that will be her only option.
She is on a club team but hasn't run this season. She usually runs the Boston Mayor's Cup but did not this year even though her team did. She could be injured.
Is this a joke? Do we have to pretend 5:20 is a good female time?
