I’m seeing a 30% chance of rain at the end of the night. I wouldn’t assume that’s why he was dropped from the start list. Maybe he was slated to pace and then begged off for some reason, perhaps to be better prepared for Oslo.
Those talking about Klecker’s 7:34 indoors: remember not every race is a time trial. Klecker beat Teare in that race and was only .28 behind Grijalva; his last 800 was 1:55.54, last 400 55.47, last 200 27.33. Between that and his recent 5k, I think Teg’s AR would be in play, but Mottram’s 8:03.50 is overly ambitious (Mottram was a 3:48.98 miler).
Bro I watched Mottram's 8:03 race after he was on the Coffee Club Pod and it was actually nuts he absolutely shat on Bekele and was celebrating way before the line. There's no way Klecker runs that fast this weekend, but I could see 8:07 happening on a perfect day. Remember, Rupp ran 3:50 and 8:07, and I really don't see Joe running near 3:50. The most grueling 12:54 known to man doesn't lie though.

*T.* Bekele to be precise [ great runner in his own right but no Kenny].
Though Buster did best Kenny B once [ over 3k]. Lifetime its something like 13-1 in favor of Kenny.
The race and infamous/famous interview. Ballsy Buster.
Evans Kipchumba is almost certainly pacing. The question is who is the second pacer? Kyumbe Munguti would be very quaified (World XC Relay Champ, 3:34.0 PB today) but he might be a proper racer. Justin Kipkoech ran 13:22 on the roads, but given he’s only run 3:39 for 1500 in Kenya this season, hopefully they’ve just given Munguti a big payday to take them through 5018 in ~5 minutes. Either way, Klecker is no longer listed and the exciting racers behind Jakob will be Stewy, Chelimo and Kipkirui.
What do you mean by "versus"? This race is shorter than Klecker's best distances, (which Jakob could beat him at) meanwhile Jakob is Jakob and he's going for a world record.
Do we know if Klecker is pacing Jakob or something?
My guess is that Klecker is pacing. He is running the Bislett 5.000 next week.
McSweyn is probably pacing too.
I think Kleckers best opportunity as a pro runner in t&f is as a World class pacer.
Like Sowinski, Klecker is among the best but will not be the best, either in US running or the DL/World stage. He is at top fitness right now but still lacks World class speed. Being a pacer is good money and a good opportunity to stay relevant in t&f before he moves on to Marathons or Tris
