not even a race. Jakob has it in the bag.
Jakob will probably run 8:02. Klecker maybe 10 seconds behind at 8:12
Probably a 3 second difference
Klecker's recent races suggest that he could run significantly faster than 8:12. I'm guessing 8:03-04 for Klecker with Jakob well clear possibly under 8:00.
Jakob is about to get KLECK'ED. Can Jakob even grow a moustache?
No they don't because he doesn't have the legspeed/footspeed. He only ran 734 inside for 3k. This was after he already had a 1254. So yeah we're talkin 810 range at least.
Yared Nuguse could get the AR tho. He has more footspeed.
Ritz's PR is 8:11, so hopefully Klecky beats that.
My guess is that Klecker is pacing. He is running the Bislett 5.000 next week.
McSweyn is probably pacing too.
No he isn't.
You can run 2 races 6 days apart.
Of course you can, but who is pacing then? Chelimo? I doubt it. The meeting directors has promised someone world class.
Klecker has run 12:54-55, so he can beat Teg's time (still American record?) of 8:07. I would guess 8:03-4, similar to Mottram, who ran a bit faster at 5000m. Indoors, he was exhausted after his 12:54 and that might account for the 7:34 being a bit slower than expected.
I think some people here, including you, will look silly friday evening!
Probably the no-name Kenyan and McSweyn
You might be right that Jakob can´t grow a decent beard yet.
But what is your point?
His lack of physical development didn´t prevent him from being double European SENIOR champion 5 years ago and Olympic champion 2 years ago
Evans Kipchumba is almost certainly pacing. The question is who is the second pacer? Kyumbe Munguti would be very quaified (World XC Relay Champ, 3:34.0 PB today) but he might be a proper racer. Justin Kipkoech ran 13:22 on the roads, but given he’s only run 3:39 for 1500 in Kenya this season, hopefully they’ve just given Munguti a big payday to take them through 5018 in ~5 minutes. Either way, Klecker is no longer listed and the exciting racers behind Jakob will be Stewy, Chelimo and Kipkirui.
Chelimo as a pacer? Now that would be interesting.
Jakob's running 7:56.76 on Friday.
Read this and be amazed. Henry Rono the master of running many fast races in a short span of time:
Sux that Klecker dropped out of this race. Really hoping for an AR. Anyone know why he dropped it?
