He got beat by Amon Kemboi but Hocker's 55.1 final lap fastest in the field and 3:34 in his first outdoor race of year!
Centro 6th at the bell finished last in 3:38.20 as hew as the only athlete to run over 60 on final lap. Craig Engels still has a lot of work to do as he was 11th.

Good interview. he said that he didn’t have a lot of confidence going into it, and said he would be happy if he ran under 3:39. Well he crushed that and now his confidence has grown significantly!
Incredible last lap and fantastic opener for him. If he got a shorter haircut I’m sure it would make him run even faster!
Was it really that incredible? Woods just ran 54 at the end of a 5000
Given he’s been dealing with injuries the last 12 months or so and has barely raced it’s a pretty phenomenal first real race of the season for him. To have that kind of finishing kick based off little to no races I’d say it’s very reassuring.
This was a good interview and very honest. Hopefully the snarky critical people that tend to post a lot can empathize with what it’s like to go through repeated injuries and regain form. Good luck Cole! It’s going to be an exciting US champs.

At this pace, yes, it was pretty incredible... remarkable... impressive
Why so much hate for Centro? Is it the way of today’s youth to be disrespectful? I don’t get it. The guy is an Olympic champion. I think he deserves better.
Rojo: "As Hocker is back as he didn't win as he went from 12th to 2nd in the last lap as he ran the fastest last lap of the field by far as he ran 55 seconds as that was a faster last lap than anyone else as he didn't win he got second as he's BACK."

Not being disrespectful towards Centro, quite the contrary. He already had a storied career and anything else he does is the cherry on top.
I was just pointing out the Hocker is pretty good at outkicking Cooper and Yared and could spoil their fun
