I'm living north of 100kg (220lbs). I've got a new pair adidas Adios Pro 3 carbon-plate shoes. I'm wondering how many miles folks have gotten out of their carbon super shoes, or expect to get, before trashing them. At $250 bucks a pop, I would like to get some decent useful miles out of them, but I'm not going to over-use them simply to justify the cost (there's a cute little spot in the shoe where you can put the date and race result, as if you pulled them out for a special occasion, but I'm wearing these a lot more than once before they get retired).
I'll mostly be using them for threshold and faster workouts on road and track, and the occasional race (just because I don't race often, not because I would wear a different shoe).
Thoughts/experiences? I've only put about 25 miles on them so far, and I like them much more than I expected (I thought my Hoka Carbon X was a "super" shoe, but I was woefully wrong). It would be great if they'd last a while, and wondered how it's been for others, especially bigger others.
