So I have a the Saucony Speed and Pro 3's, and I have usually have a pair of lighter weight trainers. Right now, my light weight tempo trainer is the Asics Noosa Tri 14. I happen to like them much better than the high stack of the plated shoes for just about everything.
Ok, lets get to the question. When we are talking about 5k/10k. Do you still go with the flats or light weight, low profile tempo shoe or are you reaching for high stack carbon shoes? Oddly, enough, I've tried about every version of carbon plated shoes out there, and my 5k adult PR is still in a pair of zero drop flats. Seems to me that I get better use of the carbon shoes for long runs. Maybe half marathon / Marathon is the sweet spot for those?
Thanks!
