I have a feeling your act on this whole thread is being overplayed for effect, but still, i'll engage. I'm not sure on what basis you discount Eliud. Eliud's last 2 years are 2 of the best in the sport. Only guys like Kimetto, G. Mutai, and Kipsang ever enjoyed anything close to 3-4 races in a row at Eliud's current (current! the last 2 years, no need to look further back) level.
2:04:30 in Enschwede, 2:08:38 Dominant olympic win in Tokyo (Sapporo), 2:02:40 insane run in Tokyo CR, 2:01:09 insane WR in Berlin, taking down the former record by 30 seconds (nevermind that it was his!).
Kimetto went 2:04:16 (2nd), 2:06:50, 2:03:45, 2:02:37. Technically these performances weren't even 'in a row', as the last two were separated by a year (Chicago '13 / Berlin '14).
Mutai went 2:05:10 (2nd), 2:03:02 CR, 2:05:06 CR, 2:04:15, although again not quite 'in a row' as the last two were separated by a year (NYC '11 / Berlin '12).
Anyways Kipsang had a great stretch too (8 victories in a row over 4.5 years) but I'm just making the point that Eliud's most recent two years stand on their own at the very top of the sport. There is no reason to discount him until we see evidence of a real decline.
