i doubt her “fans will be furious” (because any decent fan would still support her). i also doubt she would make a decision like this based on the opinions of random people like you. she will hopefully just do what’s best for her.
This is all surely fake news....but she's ranked #1 all time NCAA mile and #7 in 5000, so that means all of the current pros had worse US all-time ranks when they left college. That would include Purrier, MacLean, Magee, Norris, Hurta, Cranny, Schweizer, Huddle, Houlihan, Monson, Coburn, Frerichs, Constein, Seidel, Cooper and Infeld - actually all but Simpson. She will continue to improve as a pro just like they did.
Since, according to your post, K T does well racing against college kids, she should continue to do so.
A guy I know, drafted out of hs by m.l.b. The highest level he climbed to, AA ball; another guy I know, four years of college, progressed quickly through minor league ball after college, about eight seasons in the Big League.
Anyone wishing a 4:06.xx 1500m runner turns pro is wishing bad fate on a young lady.
You guys are deranged. Can only imagine the stalkers that legit star athletes have to deal with if this is what a college girl in a niche sport is up against
Maybe she’s arranged to finish her degree remotely? She may have realized the need to go pro while the iron is hot and get altitude training in to make the world team and properly prep for Paris24. We’ll learn soon enough what’s going on…
Hahahaha. You were one of the guys attacking everyone saying she should pro while the iron is hot..
I did say I would be disappointed if she turned pro so soon. I wish she would give it another semester to achieve a couple of more milestones like sub 15, 5K, but the decision has so many factors that I’m not privy to. Let’s hope it isn’t an injury so she can resume her training without restraints.

You are basically implying that no one should ever become a track pro.
Also despite the unexpected fast 1500/mile times, at this point she is targeting the 5000 for usatf. Challenge will be getting a Budapest '23 qualifier 4:03.50 / 14:57, as the usatf 5000 tends to be jogfest with hard close. It's unlikely she makes the team, but she definitely won't make without the standard.

Okay, so I tried to apply this logic... let's look at Alicia Monson. I'm sure we'd all agree she basically World Class at this point.
Upon graduation at Wisconsin and turning professional with ON, Monson had personal bests of 4:38.14i in the Mile, 8:53.69i in the 3000m, 15:31.26i in the 5000m and a 33:02.91 to her name for 10,000m.
Based on Monson's career, I would 100% support Tuohy going professional now as she is much more promising talent and would secure her to be the next in line of great American distance runners.
