Everying is a gain for her and the only thing she losses if she turns pro is her fans because pros rarely races compared to college runners who run every two weeks for 3 seasons.
Her fans will be furious. All of us have been saying she was stupid not to go pro and they all said it was the right decision. They will immediately change their opinions.
There was an event at a Running store in Raleigh that most but not all of the distance runners attended. I do not see Starliper in photos either - does that mean she is going pro?

Yes, based on the pictures, it appears that several members of the Wolfpack women's XC team in addition to Tuohy were not at this event - including Marlee Starliper, Mariah Howlett, Jenna Schulz, Alyssa Hendrix, and Briley Bickerstaff.
So I certainly wouldn't say that absence from this event means much of anything.
Ngl I'm hoping not. I was getting excited to see her set some super long-lasting records outdoors, crush the field at NCAAs, then go for the World team. It's fun as a fan to see her race every few weeks and blow already high expectations out of the water. On the bright side, if she turns pro, I'm gonna be hyped anyway; I just hope she's still visible/getting in a good bit of racing.
Basically, if she joins OAC, I'm gonna lose my mind, and if she joins any other team, I'm gonna be pressed.
Forgot one....Amaris Tyynismaa was not there either. Maybe she's turning pro too.
Why would she be there? It was an event to honor the NCAA XC Championship team. I seem to remember Tyynismaa wearing an Alabama uniform that day.
So if Amaris would have been available and interested in attending, she would have been denied by the team or event organizers from attending? Yes, they took the trophy and were wearing "NCAA Champions" T-shirts, but I highly doubt that Amaris or Allie Hays would have been prevented from attending if they wanted.
