Girlfriend thinks I talk about REI too much. Long story short: I am allowed water and fresh fruits/vegetables from elsewhere, all other purchases can only be at REI. I thought this would be easy, but now I’m in need of running shoes. I hadn’t realized they mostly sell trail shoes. So if you had to buy road shoes at REI, what would you get?
I’m fascinated. Can you break down your spend to date?
Peak refuel brand is tasty for dinners. Add a salad and some cooked greens and you can eat pretty well at Rei. but all of those meals are assuming you want big calories and sodium because you’ve been hiking for 6+ hrs. So get some miles in first. I also recommend the mountain house granola. Report back.
Last time I checked a Subaru Crosstrek has an ICE. I think your guess that he replaced the ice with an EV is pretty far out there...
I have the hybrid. I can get about 20 miles on electric only, which is enough for most of what I do. It has a full tank of gas, this will easily last the 3 months.

So like I said you have an ICE.
Yea, but like I said: it will run 20 miles on a charge without burning any gasoline.
I receive reward bonuses at Work that can be turned into Gift Cards to various stores and its been averaging about $400 worth of GCs per month which I end up turning into Amazon GCs which then can be turning into Chevron, Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh, Lowes, Southwest, Hotels.com and many other varous gift cards to live on for daily spending without touching my paycheck for things outside of housing and utility costs.
Sorry everyone, I broke up with my girlfriend and kind of forgot about the bet (and this thread).
On the plus side, when I was trying to figure out what to do with my 20% off a full priced item coupon, I started looking at rope tarps and bumped into the cutest rock climber I’ve ever seen. One thing led to another and we’re camping together this weekend. She thought it would be fun to eat only REI food for the weekend. Definitely keeping her.
