Cranny ran ~30:13 at the same event previously, so there's no reason to think sub-30 is off the table, given the way Alicia Monsoon has been running this year.
Her PB is 30:51, she isn't dropping 52 seconds in a year no matter how good a year she's having. I'm very skeptical that Andrews can pace at 15 minutes. That's basically a race effort for her (PB is 14:51), and she's being asked to go 6k. I'm almost certain this will be paced for 30:40, so 15:20 for Andrews
You have to appreciate the context of PBs… Monson’s 30:51 was in the U.S. Champs/WC trials and her 5k splits were 15:50/15:00 - moreover her last K was 2:49 (as in 28:10 pace, as in she could have run well under 15 for the back half if she wasn’t caught up in a duel with Schweizer).
In her (superior PB) 14:31 5k, it was in a DL race off a fairly modest ~8:49 opening 3k, with her last K close to 14:00 pace. It’s apparent that in that race she was fit enough to run several seconds under 14:30 if the field had gone out faster. This is backed up by her 3k in Lausanne in which she squeezed the last K and beat Chebet (WC 10k silver, World XC champ), Kipkemboi (WC 5k bronze) and Hassan (no explanation needed). Obviously she’s in great shape currently having just run 8:25 with a strong close.
Getting to the point…30:51 is not representative of what Monson is capable of in a time trial. She’s running at a level as high as any U.S. women’s distance runner ever has. She’s put up times at shorter distances that show the 10k AR is in play - do you really think she and Ritz would believe Huddle’s time from Rio is beyond her? It’s no coincidence that the latest Instagram “press release” lists the pacing at 15:06.5, exactly AR pace, and you’re being foolish if you think you know better. 30:00 is probably a smidge out of reach here but it honestly wouldn’t shock me if Monson ran 15:06/14:53 = 29:59…it’d thrill me, but not shock me.
Also, Norris appears fit and I’m sure she will prepare for this like it’s a race effort, and will probably get some pacing of her own in the early stages.
I run the 800 there several times a year as well as on nearby tracks like NB and Harvard. I tend to run 1.5-2 seconds faster at BU than those other tracks. This is especially tru me if you draw one of the outside lanes as the asymmetrical turn effect is greater for lap one in that case.
I don’t know, 15 men under 3:55 today and people seem disappointed. Check your expectations a bit. Watching the races live, yes the pacing was not ideal for heat one but still, what an embarrassment of riches to see how many went in the low 3:50s. This is still indoor track on a 200 meter oval. You’re not going to get sub 3:50 even at BU in every race. Just watching the Washington athletes in heat two was amazing. One university producing that many low 3:50 milers in the same heat. Simply outstanding. And remember it’s still very early for everyone.

Agree. I don't think Robby Andrews could run 15:00 through 5km, let alone his wife.
True. That’s if his wife would even show up to a race. So far it’s 1 in 3. Very very strange.
Dathan said in an interview at Dr. Sanders with letsrun that she had a hamstring injury that week and he didn’t want to risk it racing her but she did come back 2 weeks later and still ran well at Millrose running 4:20. Looks like the mile never came together on the women’s side for the BU meet. Not one professional in the race and 4:40 winning time.

Sorry for being long winded.
Norris herself stated she's rabbiting 15:00 thru 5k then will attempt to continue thru 6k.
Given that she pulled out of today's BU Last Chance meet hints strongly Ritz & team want her fully fit and focused on her rabbiting duties Saturday night.
Also, have a pretty shrewd hunch Karissa Schweizer will be helping out as well . . . she's been pretty quiet these past several months but her few IG posts always show her training with Elise.
Another item of interest: the two editions of The TEN have showcased the men's10k as the last event of the evening . . . not this year . . . ladies turn to command the spotlight.
Still four weeks out . . . but initial entries now revealed:https://www.instagram.com/p/CoNOrZIpnEY/?hl=enGreat to see that Connor Mantz is still interested in the track.Somewhat of a surprise: Luis Grijalva in his 10k debut....

Excuses, constantly. So why did she even sign up for the mile if there were no pros there?? She could have jumped into the 3K like Johnson did. Instead she bailed, again. Fearful of getting beaten by SJ
