Increase muscle engagement in your runs. The MUSCLE RUNNERS shift the majority of the impact from your joints onto your muscles. MUSCLE RUNNING reduces direct impact on your joints and strengthens your muscles and joints. Hel...
In the video the guy says "over the past few decades there has been no real innovation in footwear." Yeah the whole vibram toe shoes/minimalism of the 2010's and the new carbon plate super shoes is basically the same thing we had in the 90's, but THIS shoe that has slightly thicker foam in the front is the real game changer
This reminds me of "Earth shoes". They were still selling shoes in the early 2000s and I got a pair of their Oxford style. They made running shoes too. Apparently they went out of business since then because I could not find a lot about them online.
"Shop Earth Kalso Grounded Heel shoes inspired by yoga and have helped encourage wellness and wellbeing for people around the world for nearly 50 years.
Hi. We mentioned that in the last few decades there has been "no real innovation in footwear design and engineering", because most of the innovation had been done by chemical materials engineering industry, such as BASF making the Adidas Boost foam and Arkema making Nike's ZoomX Pebax foam. Carbon plates in shoes have been around for decades. But our design by introducing a thicker forefoot cushioning parallel to the ball of the foot and starting just in front of the arch of the foot has never been done before. Also, unlike the Earth shoes from the 70's, our forefoot cushioning does not continuously increase to keep the entire foot slanted, instead in our Muscle Runners the forefoot cushioning is at its maximum height just around the ball of the foot and gradually decreases through a toe-spring that curved the toes upward and forefoot rocker that enables a smooth roll-off, which the Earth shoes were and are completely incapable of facilitating. The Muscle Runners are accompanied by the "fascia crusher" massage roller for rolling sore calf muscles including the Soleus muscle (lower calf) around the Achilles tendon for preparation and recovery from running with the Muscle Runners. The Muscle Runners are muscle and joint strengthening running shoes and should be eased into and not intended to replace your current running shoes overnight. Strengthening the calves always carries the risk of Achilles tendonitis, therefore running in the Muscle Runners must be accompanied with regular calf exercises, such as calf raises. Mid-foot and forefoot running is the preferred form of running for most runners, and we're here to make that possible. Please feel free to send us an email with your questions. Yeah you have to love that. An arbitrary take on what is or isn't innovative followed up by an "innovation" that falls in the "well we haven't seen it before so that means it's innovative" bucket.
Similar to if we just designed shoes with the heel in the forefoot and vice versa. Just nonsense. At least this doesn't look as bad as the Mizuno wave duel pro - all I would say to anyone that wanted to believe this might work for them, is long term, good luck.
All the right answers you're looking for are provided on our Muscle Runners product page and Muscle Running information page. The Muscle Runners are a very different forefoot running shoe with a positive Forefoot Gain where the forefoot cushioning is about 10mm thicker than the heel cushioning. If you have any specific questions regarding how forefoot running shoes strengthen calves and joints, please let us know. However, it is important to consider that one needs to do daily calf raises of 20-30 reps up to 3 sets everyday for 2-4 weeks to build enough calf strength to be able to fully utilize the benefits of our trainers with a Forefoot Gain and reduce injury, one of the common ones being temporary Achilles pain which will lead to extra rest and recovery days or otherwise may lead to Achilles tendonitis. The Muscle Runners are performance enhancing tools and need to be treated that way. They will help you get stronger and healthier by reducing impact on the joints, because that impact will be absorbed by calf muscles (Soleus, Medial and Lateral Gastrocnemius). We, antepes, are a new brand with a new type of shoes, so we'll take the time to help anyone who may have questions on our shoes made for Muscle Running. Big brands don't want to address the main cause of most running injuries which is heel striking, because that's their biggest money maker since most people are not capable to buy a pair of shoes with a technology similar to the Forefoot Gain technology and start running with them out of the box, but anyone can simply get started with heel striking shoes. That's why you'd even see some joggers wearing Alphafly's where they would benefit more from a Forefoot Gain technology shoe, but big brands don't want to invest in the education of runners and possibly risk sales.
I'm bumping this one year old thread to see if anyone has tried these shoes. It seems that they might have a niche as a training version of the Dragonfly for short intervals.
no but i saw a guy at a hs invite wearing them, seems like they would be a good training shoe for sprinters or 800 runners.
as to the dragonfly question, why not use an old pair for intervals? most likely have one they used for xc, and it would provide more specificity and speed, and well as being less aggressive. dragonflys are basically a flat when loaded
