I’m no expert, but my understanding is that fracking has less carbon emissions than traditional fossil fuel energy. Also, the technology in fracking has been improved to mitigate other environmental issues.
Not sure about the Uber comment, but I have taken an Uber across state lines in an hour plus ride, but not into NY state.
I support a clean environment. The issue I see is that we continue to use more energy, including the climate heroes. Some even charter yachts and jets regularly.
I think Bjorn Lomborg makes a lot of sense on the subject of climate change. I understand he has an agenda to sell books, just like most climate specialists. He isn’t a climate change is fake guy, he clearly says it’s mostly man made in the last 150 years, but he also doesn’t think it’s the pending apocalypse that many are making it out to be.
I see 2 ways to fight climate change.
A) We all drive less, fly less, buy local, stop using Amazon, and get off our electronic global devices (this will never happen , even for the soup throwing super glue to priceless painting people).
B) We support real technological solutions to mitigate the problem. Electric cars and wind farms have some negative trade offs. Solar and nuclear seem to be the best options we currently have.
Like many other debates that have become political, there are very few common sense middle of the road opinions. It is all climate change is a hoax or climate change is the end of the world.
