Infled is not competing at BU. She is running the sound running cross champs (source: Emily’s comment on Citius mag Instagram post, all of the Sound Running promo). Nonetheless I think it will still be a great race, sure to be fast.
Weini Kelati ran home at 23:39 to successfully defended her 2021 title at the 2022 Manchester Road Race on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday. Conner Mantz won the men's race in a course record 21:04.
Not trying to sound negative but why are these seeds so aggressive. Last year there were like 12 girls under 15:40 in indoor for the entire season. This year there are like 30 girls seeded under that. Are these people just delusional, or do they really really believe in themselves. The 15:30 heat is like full of 15:59 girls.
Wow how could Chavez get the entries so wrong. Pretty bad reporting. Major problem US track has is always hyping people competing then many no shows. Seems Chavez was simply making up a field

Yeah and the 15 heat... a lot of those runners would be better served by a 15:15 or 20 pace. And the heat is huge. Predict a lot of lap traffic if the top runners do 15.

you're definitely right that the paces are aggressive in the heats. But there aren't many opportunities during an NCAA career where you get a bunch of "equal" talent all trying to time trial essentially and its paced through 3k for you. I doubt many of those girls in the 15:30 or 15:45 heats are thinking they are going to run those times, but if they can be on that pace through 3k maybe they can hang on for a new PR to be proud of.

Hopefully most in the fast heat will finish in 15:40 or faster which would make it less likely they get lapped. Do some better belong in a 15:30 heat? maybe But they have to manage the heat sizes too. Same thing for the 15:30 heat - I can see some that probably better belong in a 15:45 (or maybe 16:00) heat.

There are 5 different pace heats for men, but 3 for women. Maybe they should have split the women up further.
