NCAAs is going to be really frickin cold and windy

After a little digging, Colorado did well in the snow/cold with its women coming into the meet being ranking 3rd then stomping everyone and the men being ranked only 8th but finished with a surprise podium spot. Other mountain schools like NAU men, BYU, and New Mexico women did fine compared to how they were ranked coming in. Not enough schools ranked high in that year from either warm or temperate climates to tell if any "tanked" in the conditions.

Cold yes, but 10mph isn't too bad. Some individuals and teams will likely suffer, but I don't think the carnage will be nearly as bad as the 2019 NCAA's where it was 40, rainy, and windy.

Weather will certainly play a part in this. I don't think the cold will have much effect, unless it is also damp/wet. That starts to make things dicey for the runners. I do agree that it will affect some southern runners more.

well, it might be a shock for someone coming from Central Florida. I am sure NM, CO, NC St, OSU will know how to handle it just for starters. Might be a nice day to run in a pack as opposed to off by oneself.

I agree, the CA and FL runners are ill-prepared for those conditions. If Tuohy beats Valby, then Valby supporters will be able to point to the weather as the determining factor that was in Tuohy’s favor. If Valby prevails, then Tuohy fans can use Tuohy’s hamstring issue as the excuse. Either way, the debates will rage on until track season.

Wisco will overerform

Tulsa men also performed really well in 2019 and last time NCAAs were in Stillwater. Surely they must know the course better than anyone bar Ok State. They are coming in rank 5th, so I think if any of the top 4 has an off day Tulsa could hit the podium

Full on winter temps in the Rockies all week so OSU might be a refreshing change!

Gainesville FL gets to 20's & 30's in the winter, Florida runners will be fine.

The weather forecast for this week in Albuquerque and Raleigh are very similar....high around 50 and low around 30 almost every day. Most of NC State's top 7 are from up north, including Tuohy, Chmiel, and Rauber from New York. They know how to run in the cold, and on hills. I don't think the Wolfpack are going to be at a disadvantage on this course in these conditions. If Seymour suffers on a hilly course, that may be offset by Rauber who has stated that she loves running on a hilly course.

I wonder what will be the clothing of choice for runners.

Singlets gloves and beanies maybe half tights.....20s are not that cold.

High of 43 so races will be in the 30s. Sunny and 10mph wind. Not extreme by any means. Should be fine. No precip.

Not! And besides we're 6 weeks from just the first day of winter.

I was flying to California on the same plane that took Kurgat and Denver and then to NM (they were not flying with the team. I asked them how they liked the course, their reply is that "we like any course as long as it is warm". Projected 1 and 3 ended up 2 and 5 or 6. I would not say that they performed well in the weather. (1-2 inches Snow on the ground and 28 degrees).
