It's Official NAU Wins It on the Tiebreaker!

It's now official. NAU has won on the tie-breaker.

The tie breaker is not the 6th runner. It is how the top 5 of each team did head to head.

So NAU's #1, 2, and #4 runners beat Oklahoma State's so that gave them the 3-2 tiebreak edge.

New Mexico having 5 All Americans and still not being that close to NC State shows that you really cant win without 1-2 in the top 10 and 2-3 in the top 20. Most years the team with the best #3 is the team that wins.

Great race, wasn't sure Tuohy would catch her but fair play to her. Huge ambition almost paid off for Valby. They will both be stars.

Valby ran great; I'm always impressed when people go out and do what they need to do to win it, even if they don't pull it off. Both she and KT ran the races that were right for them.

Valby did nothing wrong (except maybe corners). Tuohy won, so she was right as well, but I think it was more risky than necessary, she should have tailed Valby right away.

Katelyn Tuohy and NC State get it done!

Tuohy was 1, Kelsey Chmiel got 3rd and Brooke Rauber was good enough in 5th (74th place) to get the job done. New Mexico had 5 in the top 34 in terms of team scoring but their #1 was only 20th. NC State had 3 in by then.
