If someone had literally knocked him on his a$$ to get him to stop or removed like at an NFL game, would that have been acceptable or would someone complain as if too harsh!
He chose not to lead becuase he expected to get pulled from the course.
This. Obviously the dude could have won the race. He chose not to.
Still a very peculiar decision for him to run. Leave the high school races to high schoolers. Just do some local road races if you want to feel good about yourself...

He also didn't run the whole race. He jumped in after the start, went to the front and hammered. He gapped Sanchez by about 5-10 meters, but then Sanchez came back on him in the last 1mile.

Wonder if Sanchez had any idea the dude in front of him was in college. Gotta be pretty jarring if he expected to be alone out front and some dude hes never seen that looks 30 is just hammering next to him.
yeah i suspect when you’re a top runner in your state, you know the competition and who will be with you throughout the race so i bet he was spooked when some random leads for most of the race
This is unbelievable. Any college runner doing this is nuts, but a SUB 4 MILER makes this completely shocking. Dude must have issues, wish him the best. I don't want him to get in any serious trouble, and I highly doubt there's really any legal charge that could stick except maybe trespassing?
