Tuohy will give her a run for her money at NCAAs -very close between them, and I'd still favor Tuohy ftw. The OkState course is very tough too - on paper it'd favour the extremely light runner (Valby) over Tuohy as the hills are long and difficult, but Tuohy is as tough as nails. Never discount her. Those muscles are all power and that last 1km hill at OkState will be a fantastic battle.
She is more than ready to break the records but I don't think you can just hand them to her. Plenty of hard work will need to go into achievements for the appreciation. Here's to the rooting for her on LRC.
There are plenty of state champions that don't emerge to national prominence and are not coached by a Jerry Schumacher acolyte. Sorry, but the rot is within.
Righteous indignation or an anger deflection technique on display here?
In any case, you sound emotionally invested, mom. Astro is definitely pointing out something valid here. It's very unusual progression. Maybe she's just enormously talented..who knows. But, it is certainly notable, and it is certainly unusual. As this is a running board, it is worth talking about!
Comparing the 5k Splits in this race to the full 5k race results at Piane, many runners split far faster today than they ran at Piane, and had huge PRs.
So you want to bring up PED regarding tree-trunk legs Tuohy?
stifle it, budzo
It's horribly nasty to talk about Tuohy's legs like that - please delete. I know lots of women with curvy thighs. She's got a pear shaped body, which probably a majority of women do. It's actually something to overcome for her, as this is probably a less suitable body type for distance running than Valby's.
Anyway, if you lined her up against any normal female, she's clearly rail thin (and her legs would also look very skinny). However, compared to most ultra-thin runners, maybe not. So, please don't talk about a very thin girl's body like that. It's mean, nasty and unwarranted.

You just admitted Tuohy looks suspicious for a distance runner, and Valby looks the part.
