I would steer clear of elemental iron supps the last thing you would need is gastro disturbances with your already said CT condition.
Being a herbivore is nice for the antioxidants and polyphenols but don't forget that needs a balance hence the reason your an Omnivore.
A lot of the pro cycling teams take an expensive heme iron extract from cows which your body can use right away without conditions of diet, ie avoid dairy, coffee, etc. A moderate priced solution would be beef liver. The taste!! No problem a typical packaged beef liver has (4) 4oz strips. Cook them all and place in container to freeze after freeze grab one strip and break in half then break apart into pieces put a little sea salt on and they'll dissolve and swallow without chewing and taste.
2-3oz of liver only has 4-5mg of iron But has the full b complex and copper to metabolize. Compared to elemental iron it's nothing but it's bioavailable and taken at 2-3 /5x week you'll be 💪.
If this sounds too much then you could take liver pills or powder definitely though make sure it's Not defatted as you need those co factors. I believe a good brand is Perfect Supplements.
