Anyway, while I am not the poster you directed your question at, I do share similar sentiments and can answer this question for you. I am 34. Live in the US. A runner. Former professional runner, to be specific. Pretty unemotional, rational guy. Log in on here every 2 months or so. Now it's your turn! How old are you? Where do you live? Are you currently a runner? What are your pros?
Blankenship was an Olympian in the 1500. That's "not quite making the cut"?
Yes. He was not only an Olympian, but he made the final in the Rio 1500, finishing 8th. He also made two World Championships teams, indoors in Birmingham in 2018 in the 1500 (8th place?), and outdoors in 2019 in Doha where he advanced but only to a semi-final. And he was on the USA's WR setting Distance Medley Relay at the IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas in 2015.
Ben Blankenship (born December 15, 1988) is an American middle distance runner. He is a world record holder as a member of the 2015 USA Distance medley relay team, of which he ran the 1600-meter anchor leg. Running career Ele...
Knowing the background of the voice of a comment is significant. I’d like to get an idea of what kind of person makes comments like yours. So, how old are you? Where do you live? Are you currently a runner? What are your pr’s?
Lmao, Is this your first time on the internet?

Well, I was more interested in the background of someone that flippantly makes disparaging comments. However, since you were so hospitable, I’ll play along:
Early 40’s. Phoenix/Tempe. Also a former semi professional runner a million years ago (small contract/shoes/gear), but now work as a physicians assistant in an ICU. Still a runner, but just to maintain fitness: 7:30 pace is the new 6:00. 100mpw is now 35 on a good week. PR: 3:36 (1500)
Sometimes the trolls give up quickly. Donkey doug ran for his college club team (for 2 years) and was feeling brave today
I’ve been posting on these boards for 15 years. You won’t find a troll post in my history.
But this is a prime example of why elites refuse to post here.
He's NOT an elite and never was. His marathon pr is surely slower than mine and I was NOT an elite. Elites use their real name for the most part. donkey doug is a wanna be, that's it.

Yeah this one was too obvious. Probably like a 20 minute 5k guy
Critical comments like this make me wonder what kind of person the author is. Curious, how old are you? Where do you live? Are you currently a runner? If so, what are your pr’s?
My demographics have no bearing on the conversation.
Two years ago, Ben ran 28:08 10,000m. That's an 1120 on WA scoring tables. 1120 ~ 2:12-2:13 marathon. What is the likelihood that a 1500m runner several years past his prime runs an equivalent marathon? These comments aren't critical, they are realistic. My comment about his contract speaks to his lack of top level results recently, the end of his club OTC, and the fresh crop of young blood set to supplant him.
