- Cheruiyot make it 6 consecutive seasons running sub-3:30, ideally pushing or pulling Hoare under that barrier for the first time as well
- Femke Bol break 52 for the first time, becoming the 3rd in history to do so (her 52.03 PB from Tokyo already makes her #3 all time)
- An XX athlete defeat Niyonsaba in her return in the women’s 3k; also would like to see Monson get pulled to a sub-8:30 (only Slaney, Simpson and Rowbury have broken 8:30 outdoors in U.S. history)
-El Bakkali and/or Girma target something historically fast in the steeple; they sit #10 and #12 respectively on the all time list, both with 7:58 PBs—for the record, 8 men have broken 7:57, 6 have broken 7:56 and 3 have broken 7:55
-Knighton run a little closer to that 19.49 clocking from April; If he ran the 2nd fastest time of his young career (19.68 or better), that would be satisfying
The womens 3k for the US is extremely weak. Where is everyone? Hope Monsoon holds down the fort
OMG. Where is everyone? What a weak US field. Is this a joke?
I'm really not getting the outrage?
Monson is in it. Like what are people expecting. By my count there's just one relevant US woman not racing it since she's doing a Diamond League meet the following week.
Other top US 5k women beyond Monson: Cranny was in Monaco and is apparently in Brussels too doing the 5000 which is just 6 days after Lausanne - maybe hoping to go sub 14:30 for the first time which I would prioritize over a 3000 too. Schweizer is in a boot from a torn soleus. Infeld is done for the season and would be out of her depth in this field anyway. St Pierre done for the season and looked burnt out anyway. Like Kelati and Rogers are the only other top US track women this season who I don't know what they're doing and both would again be out of their depth vs an army of sub 8:30 women as they're both definitely 5-10k-half women rather than 15-5.
We're people expecting Shelby to overturn her ban or Shannon Rowbury to come back from pregnancy aged 38 in sub 8:35 shape?

Infeld racing the 10k while Rogers the 5k at the NACAC meet in the Bahamas this weekend.
