Well done dude, but the "marathon pace" is a lol. You shouldbe an estate agent.(Or as you guys say, Realtor.)
Maybe for you, not for me. I ran a race, that was half the battle.. actually mentally committing to doing it. If you watched my race recap video, you can see that I actually had no plans to run the race until about 10 minutes before it. I slept quite poorly the night before, that definitely played a role in how energized I was. I felt like garbage in the race because I didn't sleep well.
The fact I didn't break 20 minutes is kind of embarrassing. Anything over 19 minutes is kind of embarrassing for me, considering past results.
But I did get out there and race something I haven't done in a very long time.
I should be quite capable of holding the pace I did on Saturday in a marathon with more commitment. Speaking of which - going for a run right now.

It seems like you authentically get a lot of joy and satisfaction from running and racing. I hope this was the gateway back into the more formal running scene for you.
