Homestead’s first guy was a freshman somehow. Looks like he will be helping the team this year and in the coming years.

This is a dog days meet. The course is very difficult by design. Would not surprise me if West had a sub-16 and 4xsub-17 support cast in the coming meets.
Madison West’s 5th guy is running 18 minutes. No way they do that well. Lafollette has a Nico Castellanos, a junior that is running faster than Finn Gessner as a junior during training. 2-4 are 17 low and 5 is 17 mid. Much better spread then west
Lafollette is better than west
Bode Erickson, SPASH’s top runner actually went backwards Freshman to Sophomore year so he ain’t gonna improve much and might hinder his team’s chances. Arrowhead and Oconomowoc are pretty solid teams. West has a huge amount of ground to make up if they want to do that well. They had not great results in their first race. Homestead is definitely up there but I wouldn’t count on them winning state. Middleton lost Griffin Ward and probably won’t be any good
They will not have 4 sub 17s

Bode was injured sophomore year so he did not run many races.
He killed it at the time trial though.

Middleton destroyed Arrowhead yesterday
spash was missing Franzen from time trials. I don’t see anyone beating this team though.
Homestead has a good top 3 (Bosley, Silhol, Rathe) but seriously needs their 4/5 to keep stepping up meet by meet for this team to be a podium contender.
So many teams (Memorial, Middleton, Madison West, SPASH, Arrowhead, Oconomowoc, muskego, mukwonogo, etc.) have their 5th man better than Homestead’s #4.

I think they can. Their #4 ran a 10:01 and was their #2 in many races last year so he probably had an off race
Is it just me, or is it a down year for Wisconsin this year?
The only team I can see making the top 10 at NXR is SPASH with everyone healthy.
the teams that beat them last year (Onalaska, Tosa East, and Homestead) took heavy graduation hits. I mean yeah, homestead returns 3 scorers from NXR but need their 4&5 to keep improving for this to be a podium team.
but next year WI will be strong. Spash and Madison west will be top 10 at NXR. Maybe eau Claire memorial
And in fact, Spash lost some guys too but in track season there were some younger guys who really stepped up.
but the last time Spash won the state meet in a “normal” season was 2013. Im sure they are hungry this year.
they are actually looking to win this year, 2023, and 2024. the streak could even go longer
how were Middleton, EC memorial were not in here? Did that person not look at track times more carefully?
if homestead is not in the top ten according to him then how would he think that the top 2 homestead guys would be ranked 1 and 3 if he knows that their 3rd guy ran a 10:11 in track and sub-17 in Xc?
People from Wisconsin are stupid.
You guys arent in the right place for this discussion. Also not even among the right people. Tracktalk Wisconsin is still the best site for history, results and knowledgeable track junkies.

You obviously know NOTHING about the Watertown course.
Nico Castellanos of Lafollette ran like 14:50 in a 3 mile tempo during the summer, completely on his own. I saw him do it
You cannot even compare EC memorial and Madison West. EC memorial doesn’t have their 5-7 running 18 minutes. Their number 5 was 17:12 vs 18:07 for West. We have the Verona invite next week so we’ll see but here’s my predictions
1. Middleton
2. EC Memorial
3. Arrowhead
4. Lafollette
5. West
Trust me West is very overrated
1. Madison West
2. Middleton
3. Madison La Follette
4. Someone your boyfriend told you not to worry about

Ummm......Valders was D3 last year
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
