Meets don't do drug testing. Drug testers from independent drug testing organizations do drug testing, so a meet can't control whether or not an athlete gets drug tested.
As to why Sydney McLaughlin doesn't look very happy when she wins, let her explain in her own words. Part of this was in reference to some claim that she was so famous (pre-world records?) because she was light skinned (was that Dalilah who complained a few years back?) and she seems very upset about the few who are disrespectful on social media--and probably here as well, but more of it is about fame itself. I hope that she can figure out a way to handle the fame that comes to her because of who she is and what she does, but we can start by being respectful to the best that has ever run the event.
The SportsMax Zone invites sports journalist Alex Jordan to discuss American Olympic athlete Sydney Mclauglhin breaking down in tears over lack of respect. F...
No athlete would ask a meet to waive a drug test. Be serious and get real!

I guess you two don't know much about the history of the sport, or the set-up in other countries, where meet organisers & managers have relationships with their local AD agency...
This happens ALL the time dude LOL. In fact, in certain countries, whole teams have had drug tests waivered in matches overseas. Go do some research. :-)

All top athletes are tested multiple times per year in random out of competition drug tests. So an athlete trying to avoid a drug test at a particular meet is pointless. This isn't the 1980's when athletes were only tested at meets. This is 2022. Get up to date.
How does that get multiple downvotes? People are going on for thread after thread about how she doesn't look happy after winning, so the question was why does she look unhappy? The link answers that question: she looks unhappy because she is unhappy about fame, attention, and some perceived lack of respect, whether from competitors who in the past thought they deserved more attention than she did or from social media "disrespect" (whether that means drug accusations or criticism for not racing enough or whatever). And this isn't my speculation. That is straight from the source.

Yea it's kinda sad overall honestly. I mean it's understandable, not everybody who shoots to fame age 16 or whatever is going to be comfortable with it, and we don't expect everyone in the world to love their day job.

I wish you would have posted this before I put up my post. It makes sense now why she doesn't look very happy after winning races or runs world records.
Like I posted before, I really, really like Sid M. I want to see her being more successful than she already has been. It's a darn shame, if what she says is true, about her training partners make unflattering comments about her. With friends like that who needs enemies.
Poor kid, she came to fame at such a young age. Now that she is maturing into a young woman, she needs to realize that being one of the best in the world also requires developing thick skin.
What she is going through is nothing like, and I mean not even close to what NFL quarterbacks have to go through day in/day out, week in/week out. It's tough being a top tier athlete no matter the sport. I hope she can get away from social media and just focus on her running, family and friends.
I was once a head coach of xc and an assistant coach (distance) at a local h.s. In my experience 9 out of 10 issues at practice or meets involved females. Talking with other coaches in my area, they had similar observations.
When I was a freshman in H.S. I got the hell hazed out of me by the upper classmen. I knew it was coming because older friends warned me about the hazing and how to go through it as quickly as possible. More or less it was a "Right of Passage."
The girls on the other hand, my take from my time coaching them, they didn't bust balls like the boys did. The girls came out swinging, claws first, metaphorically speaking of course. In my opinion girls are meaner/nastier amongst their own than the boys are.

I didn’t downvote you.
Maybe because you involved non-drama Muhammad lol. I don’t know why? Sydney has said numerous times that she and Muhammad have a very cordial and respective relationship and they like each other’s post on IG. Syd has since clarified “teammates” to mean the women in her training group (including Felix).
Frankly I am surprised she isn’t mainstream yet, she has all the requirements to be, after she finally shook off Dalilah and got the Olympic gold and WR, I thought she would be Biles level stardom, even Mu is given more coverage. I also don’t think it’s solely because of the haters she has that demeanor maybe that’s just her personality and that’s okay too.
