Steve Hoag:
Girls:
Dan VanAcker has a sister! (But he also has a brother who graduated before him)
STMA and Forest lake girls teams go 1-2.
STMA seems to lack a low stick like Weimer was last year.
Minnetonka has an 8th grade girl who finished 3rd. Maybe she will crack the top 7 on her team this year.
Andover boys win, but barely over Anoka.
Bauman Rovn:
Eden prairie’s top freshman has the first name as the South Dakota guy who broke 4 in the mile last spring.
Breker wins by a huge margin! 20 seconds in front of Sam Scott. 4 guys under 16 minutes.
Southwest wins and has a great 1-3 (all are returning) and a great 4-6. 2 of the guys from the 4-6 group are gone and their 7th guy is ways back so they will be needing a #5 for next year.
Washburn better find a #5 for this year or else Southwest may beat them. I don’t think they got a lot worse from last year.
Meyer made a HUGE jump from last year. From JV to a 16:18.
Marshall’s 1-5 were sophomores and under. Their 5th man was ways back but they got 2 years to find a 5th man.
Their #1 is a freshman who went under 17 minutes.
Hopkins was missing senior Ali.
I guess Defor from Edina is back on the team now. Him and Haerter will be a dynamic Duo, with a solid 3-4-5 behind them. Will be hard for them to make state over Eden Prairie and Minnetonka though.
Eden Prairie’s 5th was so far behind their #4. Maybe one of last year’s state qualifies (Doolittle or Holje) can close the gap by the end of the season? They also seem to lack a low stick. Which is surprising because their team didn’t make it last year but had 3 guys make it as individuals and they are all back.
Anastasia Korzenowski has an 8th grade brother!
Another Scheller standout at Chan, after his older brothers are graduated!
Buffalo and Lakeville South showed that they reloaded after losing many seniors, and very much look to return to the state meet.
Buffalo was missing the younger Gregoire who ran a 4:51 1600.
Hopkins Drevlow wins the girls race. Not much of her team is older than her either.
Faribault:
Lakeville North dominates again and continues to show that they are the best team in the state. They have a solid 1-5. Their 6th seems to be getting up there too.
Mankato East looks really good and brings almost everyone back next year.
Stillwater should win their section again.
Blaine looks really good and great junior class. Should make state for the first time in forever.
Scorer Kimmel from North has a brother who won the MS race. Middle schoolers will help this team be successful in the future again.
Stillwater girls win, Sortland dominates.

Perham girls team beat Staples Motley.
Bjorn Anderson wins in 16:04 as a sophomore!
Perham beats park rapids. By racing head to head we now know who is #1 in class A.
Bemidji still needs a #5. They can make state with their #5 as far back as it is right now, but they need a #5 if they really wanna do well at state.
St Paul City Conference:

Boys: Highland Park got a strong top 3. I think their 4th can be up there too. They need a 5th as well if they really want to win state.
Girls team perfect scored. This team has to be in the conversation of teams that have potential to make NXN. They returned everyone but Moening. Scorzelli has done a nice job taking the leadership role from her.
