8 was fun, love the results coming in and counting runners. Watching runners kick and seeing that state was decided by those two even though they were in 18th and 19th.
Rosemount 2 second gap between 1-5. Second-6th. Lueth wins. Looking like flat out Rosemount and Jefferson top 2. Eastridge 3rd, no seniors
Wow, Rosemount could win state if Wayzata's McMillian doesn't run. I know we can't really compare times in xc, but they look better than Lakeville North.

Hopefully we will see these speed ratings for both Rosemount and Lakeville North soon. Anyone else find it crazy that Rosemount has literally no certain front runner? It’s different every time. Schultz will be the one next year though.
If the 5 are so close together they’ve got to have tempoed it to at least some extent. I don’t blame them. All they needed to do here is qualified. Not the hardest section. 5 teammates within 2 seconds just never happens
Wouldn’t be surprised if winning state was their goal. They also never won state before but they have gotten second a couple of times.
Looking to be a 3-team race between Wayzata, North and Rosemount. Tonka has to find 3 guys close to Westerlund to win and make NXN
That is crazy. Good for them, I'm sure they were really able to hold each other accountable this summer
One interesting thing is that junior Beaudette actually scored for them last year at state, but here he was a minute back. Not sure what happened to him. I know 5 is all you need but having a 6th keeps things a little safer.
Obviously they will want to win this year. They will be a one-man show next year, and Schultz is gone in 2 years too.
State contender? Maybe? NXR? Very unlikely. Their depth is very strong but doesn’t blow anyone out of the water and they don’t have a true stud like some of the other teams. Also relatively disappointing times from Edgar and McNeil especially McNeil going from 3200 state qual to 5th on the team in 10:40
Well any MN team that contends for a state title contends for a nationals berth. 2012 was the only year no MN boys team made it. This was the last time Dowling Catholic (this year’s Griak champs) made it. Dowling can win the Heartland region this year as long as they don’t choke like they did a few times at NXR. They seem to always reload and be in contention to qualify.
2020 probably would have been another year without a MN boys team at NXN. Stevens Point made it in 2019, and in 2020 they entirely replaced all 3 seniors they graduated with 3 new studs, and all 3 of them scored at state. I think Stevens Point would have won Heartland in 2020.
Sioux City North IA and St Thomas Aquinas KS also looked good based on speed ratings. Not saying Prior Lake had no chance, but their 4-5 gap that year was pretty big. Stillwater was close behind Prior Lake at the TCRC showcase.
Southwest barely misses out on state and returns 187, 169, 169, 147, 107. They will definitely need a fifth for next year if they want to secure their spot at state and do well there
Speed ratings for Lakeville North up 178 173 171 171 167
