check out her Instagram. She got a early hot a boob job and is showing them off in a short video. Her coach should not have let her do that. Training time lost and more top weight to carry. Stupid. She could be a contender but vanity and bad decisions has ruined two seasons in a row for her.
Wow, just wow. You know living in America exposes you to the extreme of some really interesting socio and psychological phenomena - one of the more interesting and relevant ones is by using the concept of victimhood as a way to deflect and absolve oneself of any accountability for actions or a way to illicit sympathy to overcome personal insecurities and need for attention.
But I can say without any doubt that ShaCarri Richardson is top of the Mt Rushmore when it comes to this in sports. F--k around and miss your last chance to go to the World Championships? Medias fault. Can't control your emotions to even the degree of a small child? Sexism. Smoke weed and get yourself suspended from the Olympics? Racism. I mean today takes the cake though doesn't it? The media has walked on eggshells for this nutjob ever since her frankly wildly implausible "heard from a random reporter about the death of my biological mother" tale and I doubt it was any difference this week. Ever since her rise to prominence it's been about avoiding anything gender or race related that her self-righteous and deluded logic could latch on to and she has the gall to come out as the "spokesperson for the athletes" in a "show of solidarity" today with this utter garble?
I'll tell you this - she's one of the most privileged athletes in the sport today. She's done NOTHING since going pro. No world championships, no Olympics - nothing. And yet she still has garnered the attention and associated compensation no doubt at a level even higher than some of the sports actual great performers. She is on a Nike deal that is inexplicably paying her multiple times the national household income of hard working Americans of all races and genders and for what? Let me repeat - NOTHING.
I really wonder what Slusher is thinking writing this woman a check every 6 months. At first I bet he thought the publicity was just golden and that eventually something on the track would compliment it. Now he's just paying for incoherent emotional babble after prelim failures at the National championships. This woman needs to be in a freaking straight jacket not an athletic track.

I’m a moron who places value on instagram followers. I’m an adult that thinks the world is merit-based.. and based on what me and my moron friends think is meritous. Besides Felix is a mom and I think it’s really funny to keep running that joke into the ground.
What she says in the interview is not a terrible take overall. I am not saying that I agree that is what is happening after these meets, but it is an opinion that others most likely feel as well. And athletes are entitled to have a voice, opinion, and stance with the media. The problem is that is is coming from a hypocritical source. She gets paid to be an elite athlete, represent her sponsors, have photographs taken of her, and have articles and opinions written about her. As I have stated before, she does not have the support or guidance to help her navigate the fame with professionalism. There is still time for her to learn and grow as an athlete. But what scares me about her trajectory is that it is beginning to feel like an Antonio Brown-type situation. Very little impulse control, unprofessional, and borderline delusional.

This is sad indeed. I see it first hand in my kids. The internets have so much influence. You used to have to have a rep of some sort, a pedigree, whatever. Indeed "influencers" are not accomplished professional people, just whover is preaching the gospel of whatever. Its cooler to be opinionated and dress like its halloween than to actually accomplish something. Its bizzaro world. This is all going the way of Dave Chapelle "when keeping it real, goes wrong".
How many people started following her ONLY after her positive marijuana test last year? That's the only real reason for her level of fame. It was worth way, way more lucrative for than actually winning the Olympic Trials.
how do you think her story unfolds? i think she will continue to fade into irrelevancy, then she'll have some run ins with some celebrity/NBA star, probably have his baby, then end up on one of those D level reality shows.
