This list from TFN might help History of US Nationals Results: 5000 Meters - Men - Track & Field News (trackandfieldnews.com)
To get the list below, I assumed that finishing in the top 3 meant making the team, and I assumed, unless known otherwise, that any runner with a non-college affiliation (Nike, OTC, adidas, Fila, etc) was not a college senior that just finished up their career.
going back to 1980....Abdi Nur (NAU) 2022, Ryan Hill (NC St) 2013, Andrew Bumbalough (Gtn) 2010, Ian Dobson (Stan) and Ryan Hall (Stan) 2005, Jorge Torres (Co) 2003, Bob Kennedy (In) 1992, 1991, 1990, ?Terry Brahm (Indiana) 1986?, ?Jim Hill (Or) 1983?
Terry Brahm may have been a senior at Indiana in 1986. He was listed as Indiana TC at the 1986 USA meet.
I think Jim Hill was a senior at Oregon in 1984. He may have redshirted in 1983.

I meant still in College (not after graduation/running out of eligibility).

Hill, Bumbalough, Dobson, Hall were done
Torres was a senior in 2001 so he was done
i guess the answer is therefore Bob Kennedy.
So it’s been a while…
Hall most definitely still had eligibility. He ended up going pro a few months later, electing to forego his senior campaign, but he was very much still a Stanford guy at the 2005 champs.

What am I missing that makes anything other than "Nur did it literally today" the obvious answer to your question?
You're being intentionally obtuse and playing the "I'm so witty because I take things uber-literally when everyone knows exactly what the person is saying" game.

Ok, technically he still had outdoor eligibility in 2006 because he redshirted outdoor track in 2002. However, he did not have XC eligibility in 2005. I’m on the fence on this one. But he did not get his degree until 2006, so I guess we could say Hall.

There's nothing to be on the fence about - he was even a year younger than Nur is currently (coincidentally they have the same birthday) and still had eligibility, even in the event he qualified in!
