OMG, and what if it was too hot, or too cold(like your porridge), or God Forbid drizzled..please, get a clue..You cannot get it too much better..the race wasn't even that far off schedule..the weather perfect for 800M Running..a frigging Rabbit, which for HS Record purposes is sketchy at best to begin with. Welcome to "weenieville" folks!!
Dude he could have gone to a pro meet like Sumner to get pulled along. But he trusted New Balance and New Balance BETRAYED him.
You've clearly never been to a real national championship meet before (NCAA or USATF). If the time schedule is off, if there isn't access to warm up areas, etc. then coaches are going ballistic at the meet director and the officials.

What you're doing is the equivalent of the NBA finals only having women's basketballs instead of men's basketball, so they play with the women's basketball. Would you be like "big deal they are pros they'll be fine, I used to play basketball with a 30 pound rock when I was growing up"???
Do you tell your boss "so what if my report is only have complete? you're a grown man you can make do with half of a report"?
Would you care if your surgeon forgot his tools so he did your surgery with a steak knife? That's the problem with people now, nobody takes pride in doing their job the best they can.

How about his coach setting up a ‘last chance’ track meet, then?
They are 41 minutes behind schedule! Boys rising star 4x2 was supposed to start at 6:26, it finally started at 7:07. Cade was supposed to race at 7:14 with his national record attempt. There are still several events to go.
This could really ruin Cade's chances of breaking the record. Unfathomable for a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP meet to run 40 minutes behind schedule.
Obviously you were never a track athlete. Things happen. could be not enough volunteers to man all the jobs that are required to run a successful meet, the list goes on and on. could be weather related

Michiganrunner55, I can tell you this, because I agree with you,I went to Outdoor Nats from 2001..Webb thur 2009..Indoors 5 times..These meets NEVER run near to the minute on time, a great day is 10-15 minutes off. Tell The Flatts to ease off for me..lol
Well, we will see what happens but what I think would have been golden is if (assuming Sumner breaks the record later) Flatt's 800 was delayed until later than Sumner's and Flatt broke the old record but did not get under Sumner's time. Now THAT would have been a screwing.
Having said that, it could have worked in Flatt's favor if the race was delayed until after Sumner's and he knew what time he'd need to shoot for (again assuming Sumner breaks the record).
All in all, an interesting situation.
I sure hope we get to see Flatt vs Sumner at nationals.

Over under on the number of times this dude has been thrown out of his son's little league game for threatening the ump?

GTFO...New Balance didn't even have the athletes start in lanes in the 800. They were on the waterfall like a JV middle school race.
for y’all downvoting, curious as to why you find it so easy to cheer for him. Does he not come off as arrogant and significantly full of himself? There’s confidence and there’s this

Anyone who has been involved with track for any length of time knows that track meets get delayed for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes it's human error. Sometimes it's equipment failures (bad blanks, faulty connections, camera failures, software issues, etc.); though, at a National Championship there should be some level of redundancies that minimize the impact of equipment issues. Sometimes it's "acts of God" like weather. In more rare instances like this medical emergencies can impact the schedule as well.
I suppose new balance fail (né Mr. Flatt) would expect meet management to push the in medical emergency off to the side to allow his son to run on time because Cade's incapable of adjusting to changing conditions. This is pathetic.
While Cade can come off as arrogant, he's never come across as a whiner like new balance fail. I expect Cade to be disappointed in the outcome and will be surprised he he makes any excuses that blame meet management.
You're either closely related to him or just a douche in general...based on your other posts, it's the later...
We could have seen something legendary today, but New Balance prevented that from happening. Period.
They moved Flatt's 800 before the girls 800. That means they could have started the men's 800 at the appropriate time, if they started it before the girls 4x2. New Balance chose not to.
Remember when the US trials last summer were delayed because it was so hot? Do you think that stopped guys like Cole MF SHOCKER and Centro from going out there and competing? Sydney McLaughlin seemed to do alright with the time delay. It’s a part of the sport plain and simple
