Commonwealth Games 2022: Stewart McSweyn in doubt due to Covid booster complications:

Ahh yes the ol' "long booster". If everyone JUST took a class in statistics, and believed in science a little, all our conversations would be so much easier. He was far more at risk without a booster numnutz.
I'm a D3 coach, I have about 100 men and women on my team. 5 got pretty serious side effects from the vaccine, including severe heart issues. They were all out for months, including 2 with season ending heart issues, potentially career ending.
Around 20 got COVID, most asymptomatic and all were back to normal after 2 weeks.
Two of our high school athletes, two, got the shot in 2021 and missed significant time. Out of all the others, we had one athlete quarantine for covid (she never exhibited symptoms but her mother had it). The remaining unvaxxed may have had covid but never knew it. Same two athletes got the booster this spring. One missed the remainder of our season. The other became ill for almost three weeks which ruined his senior season.
Best to wait 2-3 months before getting the booster after getting COVID if you're elderly, infirm, or fat person. If you're a healthy young person you probably don't even need a booster.
My impression is that Australian media may be be interpreting in whatever context their slant is...Has he actually spoken out personally on the issue?
Also, it's not unusual for previously healthy people to develop asthma after getting a viral infection such as COVID. Hopefully a specialist has seen him. I heard that this actually happened to the entire Norwegian cross-country ski team.
I got the booster four months after getting Covid. My PCP said to wait 90 days. I guess this makes me dumb.
for the record: I don’t care if any of you are vaccinated.

A young athlete at risk from Covid? Really? You really believe this?
Bigmig19, you and those like you are what is wrong with America.
COVID, like any bad respiratory illness, has documented medium-term (at least) effects that are fairly common even in young healthy people.
If you make your living from your aerobic fitness, it's wise to take steps to protect it (i.e. safe and effective vaccines).
No need for histrionics like "what's wrong with America."
From his coach… “We think it’s down to COVID because this only started when he caught COVID (in January) but you never know.”
So, he had covid in January… his coach admits this is when breathing issues started…then he got the booster in Feb…
Case closed. Sorry anti-vaxxers.
Vaccination has been shown to help relieve long-term post-COVID symptoms in some cases. It's a shame McSweyn is still suffering from effects of COVID infection.
A good reminder that fatality rate is not the only stat that matters with a disease – get your vaccines and boosters to minimize risk.
I don't fault anyone for blaming the booster – but these issues clearly result from COVID.
Le me guess mainstream media hits ignore because it doesn't fit their narrative. Either that or they slander the source to make them look bad amd wrong. That's their motto and it's highly disturbing.
A reader from Australia has sent me a link to an article from a newspaper in Australia yesterday. I'ts behind a paywall but the first sentence is:
A Covid vaccination booster in February has been identified as the cause of middle-distance star Stewart McSweyn‘s continued health battles.
It is entitled, "Commonwealth Games 2022: Stewart McSweyn in doubt due to Covid booster complications." Here is the article. If someone subscribes, can you please email me at robert@Letsrun.com a copy so I can maybe summarize it for the masses.

The dude had covid in January (and had effects from Covid since) and got the booster in February. How can you be this stupid?
Tell the Herald Sun.

You cannot pinpoint the booster as the "cause" because he was already having problems. He got a booster thinking it would remove covid in his lungs and he could magically run like always. This situation is like breaking an arm (covid) and putting on a cast, trying to run, failing, and blaming the cast.
Herald Sun has obvious slant. He was still sick with Covid. Usually the vax helps with long term symptoms. Getting booster was best odds action. Maybe he would be in even worse shape if he did not get the booster. We cannot know for sure.
