Kerr deserves a mention as well. If weather is good and the pace is hot again, could take a 3:28 just to snag a medal. Also hope to see the americans Hocker/Teare get dragged along and challenge the 3:30 barrier.
I think he does, which is why he has to actively think about having a good time, so he doesn’t get too wound-up.
Regardless, although it looked sort of even in the last 60m, IMO the race showed that relative to Kerley, Lyles is a natural sprinter. Kerley has too much external rotation at his hips, sort of like Rodgers, and that will limit him somewhat. CC also does this, but compensates in other ways.
Lyles was moving more efficiently, and more effectively coming off the turn—he didn’t have to collect himself, he was smooth and efficient.
Yeah I know Kerley medaled in the OG, but it reqlly would be interesting to see what he could now do in the lower-speed 400m.
A Diamond League 800m won in 1:49 Lol. Noah Kibet is special. Short guy with big stride and always takes it to the big guys.
Ferguson Rotich is finally starting to wind down, I’m afraid.
Embarrassing. Cancel their diamond points. I don't want to hear wind either the 1500 guys gutted out respectable times. Also isn't this track mostly inside?

It's a different stadium than Worlds in Doha '19. This one is much more open.

The wind was way calmer during the 1500, but yes nobody went with the pacer. Certainly a 1:46-7 was possible if someone was willing to take it out. Don’t think anything faster was in the cards.
