Watching Vitale do a Duke game is like listening to Madden do a Packers game. All Madden does is blow Brett Favre the entire time (and I am saying this as a HUGE Packers fan). Damn it, I just want to watch the game, even if they Packers do suck this year - so Madden, SHUT UP! Vitale is the same way, completely annoying and distracting from what is happening on the court.

VT has become a mucgh better basketball team as a result of joining the acc. everyone wants to play in the acc, it is the limelight of college basketball and the depth and compeition make every team a threat. that is why last year maryland could sweep duke but clemson could sweep maryland while tech could beat duke and duke could beat tech and unc could lose to wake and duke and almost to maryland and when nc state was on they could keep with anyone as well.

what more do you have to do then look at the facts. last year the top rated conference in the league, based on accumlative rpi's and SOS was THE ACC. thank you

I am NO die hard Duke fan whatsoever, to think that Redick will not be a factor in the pros is a joke, Chris Duhon who cannot throw the ball in the ocean, plays more than 15 mins. a game.

Redick is:

A. 6'4"+ Big enough

B. More athletic than folks think, he has had two full years of better athletes than he trying to stop him, still puts up 20+ against almost anyone.

C. Hinrich was over two years ago now, Redock IS the better college player and at least as good a pro prospect.

For those that want to compare him as a spot up shooter to like a Steve Alford,who did not make it or even Kerr who did, Redick is much more athletic than both.

Any player that plays four years at Duke is so basketball savvy and fundamentally sound, pro coaches love them , even if Duke haters do not.

It is so easy to explain things to them , how else does Duhon play so much, he plays great "on the ball" D and can get them into the offense without kicking it around.

I am no "Dookie" , but come on you have to admit as annoying as Dickie V can be, no one has done more to promote college game, it's coaches and players than he.

Redick is NOT 6'4". He also lacks solid ball-handling and passing skills. The reason Duhon plays is because he's a pass-first guard who can dish out assists. Redick cannot create his own shot very well because he's not exceptionally quick off the floor or speedy.

To say Redick is at least as good a pro prospect as Hinrich is simply foolish. Hinrich is the Bull's captain and is 3 times the athlete Redick is. Come back and talk to me in a couple years when he's riding the pine for 38 minutes a game. You obviously know very little about basketball at the NBA level.

there are 3 bulls captains and duhon is one as well (harrington is the 3rd). all the duke haters said that there was no way that duhon was going to make -- not only does he make it, he becomes a captain of a playoff team after one year. do you people bother watching duke play before spewing your nonsense? every game reddick has the other team's best perimeter defender cloaking him (often the 2 best ones) and still puts up 22 points a game. if you bothered to watch any of the duke games this year, you would have noticed that his game has expanded tremendously over 4 years and many more points this year come from driving or hitting jump shots off the dribble. i love the poster who thinks that he doesn't work hard. what planet to you live on??? nobody shoots like that naturally. moreover, he probably can run a 5k faster than most of the people on this site! even if he doesn't make it in the nba, he is going to go down as one of the all-time duke players.

Reddick will fail in the NBA and be on the bench with K and Wojo and Collins...not that its a bad place to be but he wont be on a NBA roster. Dunleavy is considered a huge failure as his team would like to dump him and his huge contract...both are 2 skinny and got favorable treatment because they played for Duke...at least according to Ainge who I would guess knows a hell of a lot more then Bitch Tits from Letsrun

What does a (supposedly) 6'4" guy who can't jump throught the roof play in the NBA? Point guard? Shooting guard? I hope not the latter, because he'll be getting schooled day in and day out by guys far to athletic for him to guard. Okay, so he plays the point, so what? Well, go on over to espn.com and take a look at his assist to turnover ratio. It ain't pretty. He's not the greatest ball handler in the world.

That said, he'll still probably be a mid-first round pick and will play 10-20 minutes a game for a long time because he can stroke it. Nothing wrong with that. There's millions of dollars in it for him.

Thats right they signed him over a month ago and the team is disapointed and would like to dump him and his contract as reported by ESPN radio YESTERDAY. NBA observers were shocked they signed him to that contract and no other team is expected to pick it up without the Warriors paying a majority of the contract. Most observers expect him to be nothing more then a role player.

how many were not unc or duke? carolina last year was everything that's wrong with college basketball. the acc's a very good conference but the overhype every year that they're so much deeper and tougher than any other conference is ridiculous. the big ten was supposedly terrible last year and had 3 teams in the elite 8. if you're looking at final four teams, you're looking at the elite teams of the conference, not the depth.

on the original topic, i was trying to watch oklahoma-villanova the other night and vitale managed to mention duke and reddick once in the first half and once in the second half. this was during a game between the 4th and 5th ranked teams in the country and this clown's talking about duke! drives me nuts and makes me dislike duke and their fans even more.
