This is a really sad story.
I'm her age and followed her since high school on Dyestat. She was such a little phenom as a kid. She qualified for the Olympic trials. She was one of the first high schoolers to do so. She was so talented and full of spirit. Even at Oregon she ran so well and proved the naysayers wrong. Everyone was saying she was a burn out but she had a great career overall. It's awful to see how everything went south for her.
She just got roped in with Salazar and it appeared she truly believed, and believes it was what was best for her. Just another example of Salazar ripping a female athlete apart. But he can't be blamed for everything, she spent years defending him. She worked with a banned coach who probably doped her before Chicago, and then promoted some trash supplement before bombing in yet another race.
Despite my not being a fan of Jordan's running-wise (affiliations with bad people, not taking a stand for anything etc.), I am really really worried about both her mental and physical health. She has suffered from some significant tragedy in life, and it appears her health has deteriorated significantly just judging from her instagram. Who are her friends in the sport? Wasn't one of them Alexi Pappas? I hope they reach out to her and reel her in. I hope she gets all the help she needs. It's tragic to watch someone so sick.
