i am looking at getting another pair of shoes. can anyone tell me about the asics speedstar? i like lightweight shoes and would give these a try.
anyone from asics post? is this shoe going to be offered in a more consevative color soon? not a big issue but a preference.

You might try searching the archives. There's some feedback on the Speedstar there, pretty much all of it positive.
nice, nice light training shoe, very springy. It runs slightly bigger (1/2 size) than other ASICS in my opinion. Gives you just enough cushion so you don't have to worry about spraining your foot or getting the excess pounding with pure flats, but avoids the problem with clunky trainers. I have not had any complaints. Good step toward the minimalist life, without going overboard.
I run in the gel flash which is basically the same shoe. The speedster is its predecessor I thought they were a good shoe but I am starting to get some bad pain in my knees but it might not be b/c of the shoes, I have been running on the roads a lot.
Like mine fine, though they did seem to wear much faster
pros: light, simple, roomy toebox
cons: superfluous duosole in forefoot reduces smooth ride and makes them a little stiffer, the fit will does not hold everyone's foot
midsole: spongy - some will like the softness, others will find them a little unstable
