this puts Teare top 20 in the US all time, which is pretty good for a windy night where i believe they both had more in the tank. I await very fast diamond league times this year.

Fisher’s 5k time when he was Cole’s age was 13:30.
To be correct, Fisher was 19.
but really, who gives a flying … We should all be deliberating all of the amazing young 20 something athletes running for the USA. We should not be criticizing them. They and their coaches know far better than the arm chair coaches and subpar ex or current athletes that post negativity.
If they had somehow gotten to Belgrade, they would have been destroyed by the Ethiopians. Of what value to them is that? I've been watching the meet and honestly did not miss them. Just getting to the outdoor Worlds is an honor. Not everyone feels that way about World Indoors. With good reason.
They would have been destroyed by Ethipians? Have you been drinking too? Tefera and Lemi don't stand a chance against them. I think one of them would have gotten silver behind Jakob.

Wasn’t criticizing Fisher, I think he’s an amazing runner. I was responding to another poster who said that Cole’s 5k wasn’t that good because Fisher ran 13:16 pace in his 10k.
My point was that Cole’s time was good for his age and even better than what legendary American runners like Rupp, Fisher, Kennedy were doing at his age. Honestly, going from 30-40 miles per week as a high schooler to sub 13:10 in three years of is incredible. I think Hocker seems like an American Haile Gebresallaise with his kick and his crazy times at his age.
George Beamish (NZ) the guy that defeated the two American ranked 10 in the final 3000m (Indoor World Championships).
Why none is talking about this?
Because it would undermine their point?
To be fair I think in an all out 3000 Teare and Hocker beat Beamish, but your point is still bang on in showing the disparity.
Makes me feel like we were robbed of Fisher and Ahmed vs Girma and Barega given how close Scott, who was beaten by Fisher and Ahmed in BU, was to the top 2 guys.

I just found this video now: Geordie Beamish: “That’s the kind of race I think I can win… I was just wrecked from Friday.”

As if any of these guys are going to Diamond Leagues. They'll "race" on more high school tracks than international meets this year. They'll do Pre, and that will be it for their DL season. Standard American distance runners.
Barega won the 3000m final just because the race was slow.
If the pace was faster (kind less than 7:32) it's Lamecha Girma that would have won.
I beat my money on this.
Barega is the best tactically by a large margin. It helps to have the engine he has, but he wins races like yesterday's because he strikes at the perfect time. It matters even more indoors on the smaller track.
That being said, I agree with you outdoors that if Girma runs the 5,000 I like his chances for Gold over Barega (and even Cheptegei) in any sort of sub 13:10 race. His explosiveness on his kick is superior to Barega and reminds me of Edris. Ironically, all these guys are training partners (Wale as well). And you thought Bowerman was loaded...
Beamish obviously had a subpar race at World's. If he had brought his Millrose form he might've been top 5.
I don't think there's any way to look at his post-meet comments as a positive as far as ever factoring at Championships. Running a round of 3K wrecks him that bad? To stay healthy, he basically can't run the day after hard efforts? How is that going to be fixed for Worlds?

Agreed. He will have to work on that. It's a separate skill set, which most of the world's best runners seem to possess.
