Very surprising that not a single squad from the state of Colorado were represented at Clubs Nats! I currently reside in Colorado and would be interested in competing next season. Any others interested?

Are you referring to the open races? A Colorado team finished 5th in the masters mens race.
Yes. I'm referring to the Open Race!
Apathy.
It isn't hard to select from all the fitness-active yuppies in Boulder to get a masters team, that's pretty much a no-brainer.
All the better open runners in CO seem to be either shoe-contract runners or affiliated with one store team or another which, for the most part, have no interest in national races compared with their interest in marketing their logo and name at local races, or are dispersed between so many other different groups that summoning interest to get enough runners to a meet like this is pretty well impossible or they're switching over to multisport because they can't cut it on the national level.
I'd agree that it's pathetic, but then most of the actual clubs and the CO USATF association itself is mostly disinterested in fostering open runners.
I may just have to put together a team myself!
Boulder RR sent a pair (m&f) of open teams to this event last year, when it was in Portland, OR, though they were hardly representative of the best (non-pro) runners in the area, for whatever reason. Where are you and where/when is next year's Club cross nationals? Have you done any of the CO-USATF XC series races? The finale is the Boulder race in late January.
Our team chose not to go because of the cost and the time of year. I had 4 of the athletes run the TC marathon and were not felling like going to NY not in the best 10k xc shape.
this was the weakest clubs across the board
What?

^^^^^^
It was, by far, the Strongest race in the history of the event (team wise).
Yeah, so much for all the lamenting when the date was announced that nobody would turn out for this meet.
2006 Club Nationals are in San Francisco (Golden Gate Park) on Dec 9th - hosted by the Asics Aggies.

¿Donde esta? was right about last years performance. I was the #2 guy on the BRR team and was hoping, while we were finding people to join our team, to be the slowest. The fleet feet boulder guys have been talking about putting together a xc team next year and do a few races here and there. If it happens, they will be much much better than we were last year. There are a bunch of guys who should be all capable of running <33.
As to why not more CO teams attend?...not a whole lot of extremely competetive clubs, at least not in Boulder. Mostly it's marathon training groups and just people who get together to train. It seems all the fastest guys run on their own or with a couple people here and there.
You guys got any openings for scrubs? I'd be interested in the details and criteria for joining your group.
Apathy.
