Bro, it was a widely adopted protocol to treat Covid in hospitals all over the US. Common knowledge. Read that Science article. Giving it to ventilated patients increased morbidity and mortality. More questions than answers. Even Topol, a variant hunter and Gilead board member was critical of the approval and administration.
I am dying (pun) for you to go pursue your PhD to see how incestuous the system is and how much regulatory capture actually exists. Why do you think I left?
I’m not saying it’s not a good drug or useful but just not under the indication it was prescribed for vis a vis Covid and ventilated patients experiencing the post-viral inflammatory cytokine cascade and thrombosis post viral replication. Time has borne that out.
I have a friend who's an MD (granted a Caribbean MD). He's an attending physician at Penn State Hershey. He's so dumb. His level of science knowledge is so low. He doesn't even remember what the function of tRNA is.

Curious where/what you did your PhD in where this “incestuous” system was on a full display. Certainly wasn’t the case for mine, people seemed far too academic for my liking sometimes.
Many people believe they are getting enough vitamin D just by being out in the sun once in a while, but the truth is few people get enough and vitamin D...

Telling everyone you have a 190 IQ, talking down your friends, who are MD's. Are you compensating for something?

Post vaccine: COVID death rates have been ~the flu, have hit antivaxxers much harder, swung elections away from the GOP, and life has completely returned to normal.
Biden did fix COVID. You're just a doomer who longs for pandemic life again, or something.

I agree that remdesivir didn't have a strong efficacy signal when it was approved (although I'll not it was stronger than basically everything else tried). However claims it has increased mortality are not substantiated.
It's OK to go at the FDA for being too lax about efficacy here without resorting to low-evidence claims that it actually killed people.
The reason IVM/HCQ were not approved was not because of remsdesivir. They just work even less well (i.e. literally 0).
Despite the successful deployment of vaccines during the SARS-CoV2 pandemic, viruses replicating in the respiratory mucosal environment continue to present a particular challenge for developing effective vaccines with strong...
